BENGALURU, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Developed nations' failure to deliver on a decade-old commitment to pay $100 billion in annual climate financing to developing nations is a "travesty", Achim Steiner, administrator of the U.N. Development Programme, said on Friday.
Wealthy nations, who are most responsible for global warming, are yet to deliver on the 2009 pledge to provide $100 billion per year to help developing nations deal with the consequences of rising global temperatures.
"A travesty. I say this with all honesty," Steiner told Reuters during an interview on the sidelines of a Group of 20 (G20) meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors at a hill resort on the outskirts of the tech hub of Bengaluru.
"I think many countries should ask themselves whether this may be one of the most tragic errors in history, that 10 years after making such a promise, the commitment of $100 billion hasn't been delivered yet."

Guilt trip shakedowns are getting old. Wealthy nations, like wealthy individuals, didn’t get that way by being dummies and giving it away without requiring some type of assurances that the monetary help offered is used properly and wisely. But that was the old way. The new way, apparently, is to throw money off of the backend of a fast moving train and not even care where it lands and when guilt is used, even more gets thrown.
Any nation that has not developed is unequal and can not be developed
The wealthy like their money, so no surprise. Theyd rather gas these climate folks up and give the illusion of being concerned than be honest and admit to engaging in political theatrics.

Who is considered a developing nation? And why should we give them money? The answer to the second question is to keep those developing nations from developing while the wealthier nations continue to pollute the earth. I believe that is called Cap and Trade which doesn’t fix anything.
Follow the money. Who is getting rich off of this scam?
Maybe they’ve privately acknowledged that if every country on Earth confiscated every penny beyond bare subsistence from every person and spent it all on “climate”, they couldn’t affect the global temperature by one degree or the sea levels by an inch.
