And I suspect Pence is willing to “sacrifice” himself to be that “better choice”. What Haley is doing is setting herself up to be Pence’s VP running mate. I’m sure their staff have had discussions already. Conservatives will just have to settle for the 2024 “Romney/Ryan” version of “principled”(TM) candidates with just the names spelled differently and the VP slot filled by a person who checks almost all the correct boxes.

There may be better than Trump, that’s debatable. But they aren’t you, Mr. Pence.

Gut the Federal government behemoth like a deer. Zero all foreign aid and only allocate any based on American interests. Defense spending limited and audited constantly, no more $4000 hammers or else people go to jail. Blow up most of the Cabinet departments established over the past 100 years, fire the employees, raze the buildings. You will do all of that before even thinking about touching the Social Security that we’ve spent decades paying into or there will be hell to pay and quite possibly blood in the streets.
