Electric vehicles (EVs) are all the rage. They are touted as a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to gasoline-powered vehicles. The United States government has passed numerous legislative actions to phase out gas-powered vehicles and make sure that, within the near term, all vehicles are electric.
The common belief is that electric vehicles are more environmentally friendly and, in general, a safer form of energy. The dark secret: neither are true.
Currently the gold standard for all major electronic products, EV’s included, are batteries which are made of lithium-ion. The inventor of lithium-ion himself, after receiving the Nobel Prize, warned the world of the dangerous of lithium-ion batteries. So what are they?
Environmental Impact:
The main concern associated with lithium-ion batteries is the mining of the raw materials needed to produce them, which can have significant environmental impacts.
THE DANGERS OF LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES:
I am going to make a bold statement, but one that is true. Electric vehicles are basically a bomb on wheels, because of the lithium-ion batteries. I am sure its not a popular statement, but a factual one nonetheless.
Lithium-ion batteries, as confirmed by its own inventor, are seriously flawed and seriously dangerous.
Once they catch fire the real problem begins:
In general, when a lithium-ion battery catches fire, it can release large amounts of heat, smoke, and toxic gases, which can pose a serious risk to human health and the environment.

Lithium is water reactive. Nothing they combine it with can likely stop its dissociation when ignited.
The other day my wife and I drove past it and I joked that it's not real. My wife asked why. I told her it wasn't an EV and EV's are supposedly the only ones that catch on fire. LOL
And I will add more expensive to fuel than gas is for automobiles in some locales.
In a word, yes.
The difference is that the small pickup you saw didn’t burn out of control for 10-12 hours and require the local fire department to use a year’s supply of fire suppressant foam to extinguish it.
Ever seen an ICE car catch fire because it was submerged underwater? I haven’t.
EVs however......
“I told her it wasn’t an EV and EV’s are supposedly the only ones that catch on fire.”
Yes, every thread like this gets a lot people who don’t have the common sense to understand that gasoline is flammable.
When?..................
This elicits a few thoughts. Unless I missed the headlines why haven’t the wef globalists targeted lithium factories the same way they have targeted many other processing plants?
Government operatives forcing the transitioning to EV’s is like mandating mercury bulbs to replace the incandescent light bulbs. And wondering why there is a sudden increase of toxic levels of mercury in the environment.
Or like government mandating a change in gallons to flush to 1.8, which in reality requires 2-3 flushes thereby increasing water usage.
Ditto regarding EV and gasoline cars. No way are these wokesters going to admit anything bad about EVs if it damages their political agenda.
Same reason why when Walgreens puts out an ad to get your clot shot, there is not one second spent on listing possible side effects, yet every single other tv ad for a drug on the market takes up half of it listing the possible side effects such as strokes, heart attack, cancer, etc...
EVs are a Dead-end
>Yes, every thread like this gets a lot people who don’t have the common sense to understand that gasoline is flammable.
When I was in second grade, we had a visit by the fire department. The fireman put a cigarette out in a bucket of gas. It’s the vapor that is flammable.
In a way I agree with most FReepers on this even though my wife and I own an EV. I think it shouldn't be forced onto us. It should be a free market decision. In fact, I wouldn't own an EV if the Dims weren't hell bent on making gasoline cost too much and every now and then hard to come by.
By owning both an EV and an ICE pickup we have the best of both worlds. Both in enjoyment (driving an EV is fun) and in utility (ICE pickup). Plus it gives us diversification on energy dependencies. If the Dims make gas too expensive (IMHO it still is) and/or hard to come by, we can rely on the EV. If the Dims make power too expensive and/or hard to come by, we can rely on the ICE pickup. By having one of each (since we need 2 cars anyway) we don't have all of our transportation eggs in one energy basket.
Yeah. But they really help the communist Dung Beetles control the American PEOPLE.
Aside from the potential CAR-B-Q, I’ve already seen two EVs suddenly go into hazard light mode as they very slowly moved over to get off the road. I have no evidence, but I suspect they ran out of juice just as golf carts tend to do by the 17th hole. How many accidents will this cause in two years... five years... ten?
Our “earth-friendly” EPA began requiring ever-increasing MPG decades ago to “save the planet”.
When will they announce regulations limiting the amount of lithium allowed in each EV?
Brace yourself for megasize images of ICE vehicles ablaze by everyone's favorite EV proselytizer, TelsaGator.
“EVs are a Dead-
Yep, that fact was established in the early 1920’s.
