ormer President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, but a compliment he paid to a Democrat in a message about DeSantis upset some of his supporters.
In two posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump railed about the coverage DeSantis recently received on Fox News during the former president's recent trip to New York City. One of the messages included an aside about Charlie Crist, who ran on the Democratic ticket against DeSantis in Florida's gubernatorial race last year.
"Florida was doing GREAT long before Ron DeSanctus got there. People are fleeing from New York to Florida (and other places) because of high TAXES and out of control CRIME, not because of Governor (thank you President Trump!) DeSanctimonious. Rick Scott did great, and even Charlie Crist had very good numbers. SUNSHINE AND OCEAN, very alluring!!!" Trump wrote.

Someone seems a little bit worried.
Charlie Crist was on a short list for Repuke VP at the time. He was going to lose as a Repuke so decided he was a Rat after all. People have short memories and Trump is telling the truth, as usual. That’s why he’s in the position he is.
Trump is good at supporting turncoats.
Trump is finished. He has become the pigeon playing chess in the park.....
Lands on the board, struts around, kicks over all the pieces, craps on the board then flies away very impressed with itself while leaving the game unwinnable for the players.....
What a great analogy.
If a point is reached where a critical mass of Trump supporters say this is no longer kayfabe - it’s pathological narcissism - he not only gets blown out in the primaries; whomever gets the GOP nomination also romps to a popular vote victory on the basis of a voter base that no longer sees him as an indispensable man.
When someone intentionally steps in front of a manure spreader, it’s their own fault if they end up covered with poop.
That is a GREAT analogy! Stealing it!
Newsweek?
I keep hoping that there is some grand strategy behind these outbursts and that it’s coordinated but that seems like wishful thinking at this point
I agree with DJT on many things but this behavior is going to wind up putting a Democrat in office in 24
Trump really is losing the plot here. Unfortunately, Trump is still the best option. The alternative is either a Dem, a RINO or someone who is, unlike Trump the billionaire, reliant on corporate donors to support their election campaign and will always lobby for policies that screw over blue collar workers and the middle classes.
Most other billionaires are shark-eyed 100% self centred psychopaths and/or limousine liberal wokies, and Musk is not eligible because he was born in South Africa.
He praised Florida. I don’t see why he wouldn’t.

Very good analogy.
Your attempt to shoot the messenger says a lot about you when Newsweek printed the actual Trump "Truth" he posted.
Frankly, Newsweek has been a lot better lately with more factual reporting and less editorializing.
I haven’t been rankled in a long. Probably due for a another.
“Trump praises Democrat Charlie Crist”
I’ve followed Trump long enough to know that he praised REPUBLICAN Charlie Crist. He likely hasn’t caught up with Crist’s ‘journey’ to the GOP, even if it did start a while ago.
But don’t get me wrong, he still gets my Primary vote.
Heh. Haven’t heard or used the term “kayfabe since maybe the 90s.
If you know, you know ;-)
“Trump praises Democrat Charlie Crist”
One other thing - how did Florida do under Crist (which is the context of Trump’s quote)? I don’t remember big problems there, at the time.
