Goya Foods is shipping ready-to-serve meals and beverages to East Palestine so those affected by the Ohio train derailment don’t have to worry about ingesting contaminated meals.
The New Jersey-based company is sending food and drinks that don’t require tap water to prepare, including pre-hydrated beans and coconut water that contains potassium.
Goya is distributing the meals with the help of community resource center Way Station, Unanue said.
The multi-billion-dollar company’s announcement comes just two days after the federal government finally sent Federal Emergency Management Agency officials to the site of the toxic train derailment despite originally claiming the tragedy didn’t qualify for assistance.

Do I recall that Goya also refused to bad mouth Trump?
““The impact of this disaster is devastating on both the community and the environment. East Palestine has been treated like a forgotten town, and while this may be a small community, it is not a forgotten community by Goya,” said Bob Unanue, the company’s president and CEO”
Bob Unanue. A great CEO.
Goya is a good company.
We buy lots of Goya products. If it’s something we like and they sell it, we buy their brand. It’s all good quality. We have a lot of stock of their canned meats…like they have one similar to Spam but better quality and Vienna sausages. They have great jarred roasted red peppers and their tomato sauce is excellent. Dried beans and corn meal are as good or better quality than any others we have available.
I’ll go out tomorrow & buy some goya lentils & pigeon peas
Hope they are not shipping the food by rail.
Is Franklin Graham helping town folks?
That is generous of Goya. I’ll remember this the next time I shop in a grocery store.
Had one of their rice dishes last night.
From Wikipedia: “Goya Foods, Inc. is an American producer of a brand of foods sold in the United States and many Spanish-speaking countries. It has facilities in the United States (including Puerto Rico), the Dominican Republic and Spain. It is under third-generation ownership of the Spanish-American Unanue family, and is headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey.”
Goya is run by the conservative patriotic Unanue family. The left wing progressives tried to blacklist Goya due to the conservative family that owns it and their outspoken support of conservative ideals. Goya’s sales went up and it was an epic fail by the counter culture. I in the past have bought their products due to its high quality. I now make it a point to buy Goya products.
He praised Trump
Trump posed with some of Goya products
Head of Goya is a rock solid America lover
Goya products are darned tasty
Good for Goya. Good for the forgotten people of East Palestine Ohio
He SUPPORTS Trump!!!!
The canned black beans are da bomb
Good summary, likewise.
I agree. The company has done a lot of good.
Note to self:
Buy more Goya products.
While this effort is likely appreciated by the folks impacted, the real ‘need’ is for the government to fess up and address the situation.
Goya are good people. Buy their stuff when you can.
You can’t go wrong buying Goya! Great they are doing this.
