McCarthy gives Tucker Carlson access to trove of Jan. 6 riot tape

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News' Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6 riot, McCarthy sources tell me.

Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks. Why it matters: Carlson has repeatedly questioned official accounts of 1/6, downplaying the insurrection as "vandalism."

Now his shows — "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Fox News, and "Tucker Carlson Today" and "Tucker Carlson Originals" on the streaming service Fox Nation — have a massive trove of raw material. Carlson told me: "[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret."

"If there was ever a question that's in the public's interest to know, it's what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It's impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that." Reality check: The Jan. 6 committee played numerous excerpts of the footage at last year's captivating hearings. (See the committee's archive.)

Between the lines: The process with Carlson started in early February, according to a communication between the show and a McCarthy representative that I was shown.

Did it get ‘out of hand’ or was it planned to go the way it did? That is the question these videos might answer.

42,000 hrs is an incredible length.

/\

It needs to be crowd investigated like the way Naomi Wolf did with the 55000 Pfizer docs they tried to hide for 75 years.

Divy it up among the million or so that went to the 1/6 speech.

41,000 hours....

That would require one person watching 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, 4.6 years to review. At 8 hours a day, nearly 14 years.

“That’s a lot to go through.”

Weeks and/or months.

Now that would make sense, but to go thru it all, is a massive undertaking.

Does this include all the cameras from inside also. That would show different angles of Babbitt shooting perhaps. And does anyone think they edited the footage. I had seen footage of a security or police officer letting people dressed as Trump supporters in a side door before it started. Had something to do with a court case. Only saw it once or twice and never saw it again. Should see who opened the door also. And out side who moved the barriers.

That sounds daunting, but you don’t have to sit through all of it.

First off, you know when the peak hours of activity and claims of crimes were.

Secondly, you can catalog the position of each camera and what was in view. You can use this to figure out what times and intervals of the footage for each you will want to save based on who you were watching and what you were watching for.

Context and time.

For example, if you have footage of windows being breached, or who opened up doors, you’d want to see that. Or if people were attacked or hurt, you would typically have an idea when and where, even if you found something after it happened, and had to backtrack to an event, and then spread out to adjacent cameras to get even more info.

You can really narrow down the amount of footage you have to sift through.

It also depends on how well it’s already been cataloged.

I think two big things I’d be looking for are 1) what acts were shown happening (or not happening) by those who were charged with crimes, and 2) how did the breaches go down?

When I watched it live on TV, the news networks were showing live footage. Many of the people going through the rotunda area (if I am remembering the location right) were staying within roped off barricades and just passing right through peacefully. Some were carrying flags, but there was never any violence shown, and it looked like most of them just wanted to be able to say they were inside.

I’ve been inside the capital building in my lifetime. Once as a tour, and once we were able to just roam around the public areas. This was before 9-11 and I don’t know how much it has changed, but it didn’t use to be some secret, private, massively locked down building. It was a place tourists could visit.

yes, 41,000 hours ... BUT the only important part is right at the beginning ...

did the cops let the protesters in co-operatively?

who started the violence?

etc.

Naw, it was worse than that.

It was a frame-up. Good people were caught up in an entrapment scheme and some then murdered by the Government.

Then, some of those people were imprisoned by that same Government to terrify and threaten anyone that would oppose the strong-arm robbery of their country from them.

Why not grant access to everyone?

Pretty sure that will happen soon.

However, there is value in launching the release with a cohesive story line to set the narrative.

No doubt, the footage has been reviewed by staffers and the relevant footage to show what really happened is being extracted and collated into a montage to highlight the lies of the Jan 6 fraudsters.

Reading this on another FR thread.... we need to expose the crime and corruption of the Democrats and Nancy’s set up of Jan 6th...

Officer Luke Foskett’s bodycam shows some of the chaos inside the Capitol. He approached a Capitol Police supervisor and asked, “Where can we start?”

“I don’t [expletive] know,” the man replied. “You want to talk about getting caught with your pants down. We have no direction. Nobody can get on the [expletive] radio.

“I called the Command Center and let them know that you guys are here with us. At least you’re accounted for,” the Capitol officer said.

Officers in that section of the Capitol were looking for a man who might have been armed. Someone asked the Capitol Police supervisor how they could identify undercover operatives.

“They will have a wristband. Their guns will have a candy stripe on the barrel,” he said. “I don’t know the wristband color but they’ll have a wristband somewhere.”

No surprise that there were undercover operators there, would be almost malpractice if there weren’t. For those undercover agents to instigate a riot is another matter though.
