Russia's mounting offensive in eastern Ukraine has left the West in panic.

EU foreign affairs chief Joseph Borrell warned member nations that the war in Ukraine will be over unless the bloc finds a way to speed up provision of ammunition to Ukraine within weeks. The EU defence minister will hold a special meeting next month to discuss further military aid to Ukraine from their existing stocks.

Borrell said "much more has to be done much quicker'.

Yep. When you cite their MSM go-to sources showing the gig is up they ignore them, refusing to debate the info presented.

When you go to independent media they’ll claim it’s pro-Putin propaganda and refuse to debate the info presented

If they are deterred from doing either, they use Ad Hominem attacks.

These are overly emotional, beta personality, globalist tactics.

What do you think Scholz will do when they tell him, “Putin’s on the phone. He’s calling about Königsberg”?

I'm confused. What had been the German city of Königsberg was part of what Germany lost as a result of its defeat in World War II. The city is now known as Kaliningrad. It's been part of Russia for decades. Putin doesn't need to demand that Scholz turn it over.

The people who might get a call from Putin are the leaders of countries east of Germany: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Moldova.

It’s obvious Europe will allow it, when the US provides the vast majority of all the equipment and money.

If we stopped, Europe wouldn’t do a dang thing, because they haven’t done much of anything, to date.

If the Ukes run out of ammo and the Russians march in, there will be guerilla warfare for centuries, sort of like Ireland.

Then, when the obvious is brought up, you can see how they use Alinsky tactics to try to personalize it against the person bringing it up...rather than ever conceding any ground.

Did these gullible fools actually believe that the Biden administration was ever capable of taking on a war hardened country like Russia. This has always been a joke.

The Hindustan Times is a Putinist organ which pumps doggerel. Nobody is in a panic. The Ukrainians are rolling back this supposed “offensive.”

Problem there is, threat assessment. The only two places likely to start a shooting war in Europe that will need those weapons kept in Europe are Serbia and Belarus.

Russia’s already started its war against Europe. So there’s no point arguing about saving the weapons for a rainy day. Better off sending the entire stockpile to Poland and the Baltic countries, moving Ukraine, and focusing replenishment on what’ll be most effective if Putin’s sympathisers decide to get down and dirty.

Bob, do you not see a contradiction? The Europeean “West” seeing the “end of history” and not spending money on defense, Putin thinking it wasn’t over, and America maintaining its military spending to a level higher than the whole of Western Europe put together?

Perhaps Russia under Putin never accepted the Cold War (with the USA) was over, and Putin was well aware that NATO in Europe posed no threat to Russia on its own.

Doesn’t that suggest he started a proxy war in Ukraine because he wanted to attack Europe while it was weak, and that’s why his warnings to NATO in December 2021 were drafted as if the only NATO country Russia cared about was the USA?

Kharkiv. The Russians consolidated control over a village they had been contending for, for the past 3 months.

They are far from kharkiv

Go to the Sierra army depot and look at the thousands of surplus that just the USA has. And in good condition. The west as a whole has enough in just surplus to defeat Russia and China combined

My theory is that Germany will switch sides given the right incentives.

Poland is hotter for war than Germany.

Given that Russia is about 145 million people, Ukraine was about 45 million though many have fled, and the European Union about 450 million people — not adding in the US as a people and a GDP — Borrell’s foolish braggadocio has been wrong and more wrong. If the 450 million people of the EU, as represented by their industry, are unable to match the war materiel production of 145 million in Russia, and without regard to which side one might cheer on in this mess, then the condemnation of the EU, 2 and 1/2 times larger supposedly in population and many times in supposed GDP, is demonstrably ineffectual. Why is that?

Ignoring all the cheerleading for one side or the other, the glaring fact is that Borrell's admission -- "...unless the bloc finds a way to speed up provision of ammunition to Ukraine within weeks...." -- is that the "bloc" which is bigger than its opposition is fumbling and thereby weak. A bad mix for the supposedly enlightened European Union, which is headed by the once defense minister of Germany when Germany could not mount even a war game without simulating weapons. Borrell has been a blowhard, but now grown into a paper tiger.

Complete nonsense, is the EU sending 100% of its military spending/production to Ukraine? Reality is that the EU has sent about 2% of its military spending to Ukraine, which has resulted in a bogged down Russian invasion.

--- "...Reality is that the EU has sent about 2% of its military spending to Ukraine...."

A fascinating response, as yours often are.

But your clever graphic aside, I was commenting on what Borrell said, as reported in the article. May I repeat it for you?

"EU foreign affairs chief Joseph Borrell warned member nations that the war in Ukraine will be over unless the bloc finds a way to speed up provision of ammunition to Ukraine within weeks<.B>."

If your assertion is correct, then Borrell and/or the EU are at fault for their response. If your assertion is incorrect, well....

Your argument is with Borrell. Except he wouldn't even acknowledge either of us.

If you think Putin will all of a sudden stop is campaign and go away, you’re delusional.

Russia will continue this to the end, even if Putin is out of the picture.

In the end, it will be where is started.

Russia keeps Crimea and takes control of the Eastern provinces of Ukraine.

Hundreds of thousands of lives lost and uprooted later, the war is over.

The Ukrainian people have been sold out by EU and the USA. Now that we know Nord Stream 2 was blown up by us, the German people certainly would be foolish to support this war any longer.

Poland is hotter for war than Germany. Poland’s war is a great threat to Germany. Germany has many reasons to switch sides.
