Former President Donald Trump leads Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in a potential Republican primary matchup by 23 percentage points, or by double the governor’s support, a Harvard Cap/Harris poll released Friday found.

Donald Trump earned 46 percent support of the poll’s respondents. DeSantis received 23 percent, exactly half of Trump’s total support.

While DeSantis has not jumped into the Republican primary against Trump, many expect he will.

The poll showed that if the Republican primary is a two-way race, Trump is favored by 12 points over DeSantis (56-44 percent).

Not interested in full-field polls. A match-up of 2 counts more, and many of those Trump loses.

You wonder why six friends of trump are filling the field early?

President Trump or nothing. If the RINOs sabotage Trump then the Republican Party is worse than useless and can die for all that I care - the useless f@#%s.

This poll has Trump up double digits head-to-head.

Ronnie will be the next Ted Cruz if he runs against Trump.

I don't trust neocons in bed with the Chamber of Commerce.

Six friends of Trump? Nikki Haley is a friend of Trump? That is real stretch.

I would put too much stock in a “poll” from far left Harvard, the Affirmative Action playground.

No surprise. Trump has consistently led comfortably. Trump also has shown he has a lot of appeal with Independent working class voters in the Midwest, Northeast and West. DeSantis would be well advised not to run in 2024.

While I do not approve nor will vote in the primaries for Nikki Haley, there will have to be a Deep State VP, so it might as well be her.

Absolutely. Does she think the south will not forget her attack on the Confederate Flag and other monuments? If PDJT does consider her for VP, then he needs to think about that.

She can’t weasel-word her way out of that. It was too recent, and there’s always video, audio, and internet.

Might very well be the case. Cindy Hyde Smith is a Senator from Mississippi. Elise Stefanik from NY would be another good choice, but she isn’t from the South. Or we could go with Tim Scott.
