“From my cold dead hands”...
I never liked coffee so never drank it for 60 plus years. I read about this a few years ago and since I have some heart issues decided to take it up. I forced myself to drink it. 1 to 2 cups in the morning and that’s it. I started out with instant since I didn’t have a discerning taste for the various varieties but then I read this only applies to ground coffee so off I go and get a grinder and drip coffee machine. I don’t hate coffee but I can certainly go without it. It’s now routine for me. Still can’t tell much difference from the various varieties of bean etc. so there is that.
CS Lewis wrote about this.
Pot is legal in Canada so they want everyone to use that I guess.
It’s all the banality of wealth.

If this spreads to the US, I’ll give you my coffee when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
How many people were in the 2006 control study that showed coffee detrimental to those with the gene? I doubt it was enough to then assume half the population has that gene.
Try these 2 places, I buy from. You CAN tell the difference in beans and grinds (I always get Turkish or Espresso grinds = most flavor). Not cheap, but worth it, IMO. I buy Kona Hawaiian Volcano Estate and some of the other Arabica bean grinds.
