Senator Fetterman To Be Hospitalized For ‘Weeks’ After Checking Himself Into Hospital

WASHINGTON, DC - NOVEMBER 15: Sen.-elect John Fetterman (D-PA) stands for a photo opportunity in Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) office at the U.S. Capitol on November 15, 2022 in Washington, DC. Senate Democrats will meet later on Tuesday for the first time since the midterm elections. (Photo by Drew Angerer/Getty Images) Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is reportedly set to miss weeks of work after checking himself into a hospital this week for severe depression.

NBC News reporter Dasha Burns tweeted, “A senior aide to Senator Fetterman tells me he will likely be in inpatient care for clinical depression for ‘a few weeks.'”

“A senior aide says it’s been difficult to distinguish the stroke from the depression – saying it’s hard to tell at times if Fetterman is ‘not hearing you, or is he sort of crippled by his depression and social anxiety,'” Burns continued. “A senior aide tells me both the staff and Fetterman himself were taken by surprise by the severe onset of depression.”

“The aide also says this hasn’t compromised his ability to do the job going forward, and he will be back to work once he has taken care of his mental health,” Burns added.

Fetterman’s office revealed Thursday that the freshman senator checked himself into a hospital on Wednesday night for mental health issues.

The statement said that the decision to check Fetterman into the hospital came after the attending physician of the United States Congress recommended that he do so.

“Last night, Senator John Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to receive treatment for clinical depression,” his office said. “While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks.”

“On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress,” the statement said. “Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis.”

The New York Times reported late last week that Fetterman was struggling with “serious mental health” issues and often cannot understand the words that others are saying to him following the stroke that nearly killed him last year.

The report said that Fetterman’s struggles are significantly worse when he is under any kind of stress.

Fetterman has indicated that when he’s under stress, people’s voices become muffled, the report said.

The report comes following Fetterman’s hospitalization last week after feeling lightheaded at a Democrat Senate retreat.

Fetterman’s staff claimed that doctors said that he did not have another stroke and that they were checking for signs of seizures.

The report noted that the stroke last year has taken a “very real psychological toll” on him and that he has “had to come to terms with the fact that he may have set himself back permanently by not taking the recommended amount of rest during the campaign.”

Fetterman’s office released a statement last Friday claiming that medical tests from the health episode came back negative.

“A few minutes ago, Senator John Fetterman was discharged from The George Washington University Hospital,” the statement said. “In addition to the CT, CTA, and MRI tests ruling out a stroke, his EEG test results came back normal, with no evidence of seizures.”

(In 2022 He himself knew he wasn’t well. His family knew he wasn’t well. The Democrats of PA knew he wasn’t well. Americans who paid attention knew he wasn’t well. It was obvious to all.

They all lied to the world.)

And that’s exactly what happened.

Hell. She has probably been putting white Tic-Tacs in his blood pressure and orange Tic-Tacs in his blood thinner containers, and he can’t tell the difference.

May these people rot in Hell.

I somewhat disagree with the "lied to the world" comment.

Yes, they did lie about his health. The democrat voters knew and did not care.

Senatorette festerman waiting in the wings?

Not likely.

There's a whole pack of Democrat politicians in Pennsylvania who have done their time in the trenches (dump) to rise up in Pennsylvania politics. This isn't like Missouri or Michigan where the politician was in office for decades and the wife was well-known. There'd be a major revolt among the left in that state if she was named -- or even on the list.

Ain't gonna happen...

Doubttful, she doesn't have any party earned juice and paid no dues.

She's a radical lefty. That's all the "juice" she needs for dems. AOC got elected (twice) on less credentials.

And the GOP sat there and did nothing other than promote someone voters didn’t want.
The GOP has to work really hard to be this stupid.

Depression kills because your brain is telling your body that things are not going well. The cells hear the message and they don’t regenerate because there is no point. It goes back to adrenocortical steroids which are secreted when danger is present and survival might be in question. The ardrenals release hormones that cause healing and growth to slow so that all of the body’s resources can be used to escape danger. Peristalsis slows, peripheral circulation decreases, immune response is reduced and ultimately the body suffers. In short term danger like being mugged or attacked by a mountain lion, it is temporary and short. With depression it is long and drawn out. Sometimes depressed people get more attention from their friends and family so they get even more depressed when the attention stops. It is a vicious cycle that has no bottom.

Personally I am hardly ever depressed. I am grateful for the life I have and the love of others and the future looks bright in spite of liberals who are determined to ruin everything. Screw them. They are having their reward.

It would be best if he is hospitalized for 312 weeks.

And most importantly, the *media* knew Fetterman wasn’t capable of serving.

PS: BTW-—In most counties, local news is controlled by the MSM narrative.

I hope he stays in office but is hospitalized for the next six years. Pennsylvania deserves to lose half its representation in the Senate.

“I may get depressed too if I suddenly went from doing nothing...”

Let’s be honest with ourselves. If you had a massive stroke at the moment you were on the cusp of winning a Senate seat and the stroke greatly affected your ability to speak and understand people around you, wouldn’t that likely lead to depression? Especially if you realize that you aren’t getting any better.

Not being inside Fetterman’s head, I don’t know his disability is affecting his very ability to think, since we think in words.

My comment has nothing to do with the man’s politics or how/why he won his seat. Should he resign? Of course. Any votes he might make will likely make things worse for the country rather than better, but the fact is, whoever replaces him will vote the same way.

There is a procedure to remove a sitting senator.

Not that I’m aware of, short of the Senate voting to expel him.

What a trio the Democrats have given us, Fetterman, Feinstein and Biden all three should be in rest homes, not voting or getting us into a potential war

abusing a disabled person is pretty reprehensible, Mrs. F. and Sen F’s doctor. PA voters: you are getting what you deserve, losing l of your 2 Senate votes. you should have used better judgment.
