Senator Fetterman To Be Hospitalized For ‘Weeks’ After Checking Himself Into Hospital

WASHINGTON, DC - NOVEMBER 15: Sen.-elect John Fetterman (D-PA) stands for a photo opportunity in Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) office at the U.S. Capitol on November 15, 2022 in Washington, DC. Senate Democrats will meet later on Tuesday for the first time since the midterm elections. (Photo by Drew Angerer/Getty Images) Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is reportedly set to miss weeks of work after checking himself into a hospital this week for severe depression.

NBC News reporter Dasha Burns tweeted, “A senior aide to Senator Fetterman tells me he will likely be in inpatient care for clinical depression for ‘a few weeks.'”

“A senior aide says it’s been difficult to distinguish the stroke from the depression – saying it’s hard to tell at times if Fetterman is ‘not hearing you, or is he sort of crippled by his depression and social anxiety,'” Burns continued. “A senior aide tells me both the staff and Fetterman himself were taken by surprise by the severe onset of depression.”

“The aide also says this hasn’t compromised his ability to do the job going forward, and he will be back to work once he has taken care of his mental health,” Burns added.

Fetterman’s office revealed Thursday that the freshman senator checked himself into a hospital on Wednesday night for mental health issues.

The statement said that the decision to check Fetterman into the hospital came after the attending physician of the United States Congress recommended that he do so.

“Last night, Senator John Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to receive treatment for clinical depression,” his office said. “While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks.”

“On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress,” the statement said. “Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis.”

The New York Times reported late last week that Fetterman was struggling with “serious mental health” issues and often cannot understand the words that others are saying to him following the stroke that nearly killed him last year.

The report said that Fetterman’s struggles are significantly worse when he is under any kind of stress.

Fetterman has indicated that when he’s under stress, people’s voices become muffled, the report said.

The report comes following Fetterman’s hospitalization last week after feeling lightheaded at a Democrat Senate retreat.

Fetterman’s staff claimed that doctors said that he did not have another stroke and that they were checking for signs of seizures.

The report noted that the stroke last year has taken a “very real psychological toll” on him and that he has “had to come to terms with the fact that he may have set himself back permanently by not taking the recommended amount of rest during the campaign.”

Fetterman’s office released a statement last Friday claiming that medical tests from the health episode came back negative.

“A few minutes ago, Senator John Fetterman was discharged from The George Washington University Hospital,” the statement said. “In addition to the CT, CTA, and MRI tests ruling out a stroke, his EEG test results came back normal, with no evidence of seizures.”

RE: For a woman of her age, she’s not unattractive.

I think she is one like my beloved late wife who somehow always looked much younger than her age. Sometimes older relatives would see her with her two sisters and call her by the name of “the youngest” but she was 9 years older than her youngest sister.

I miss her.

He’s certainly got the best medical insurance plan the taxpayer’s money can buy!

The hospital can look forward to cashing all those checks for every aspect of his care.

I wish him a long and happy stay and hope he keeps just well enough to warm the seat for the next four years but unable to cast any votes for the far left.

Never thought Pa would be more of a political clown show than NJ but at least NJ flipped a democrat Congressional seat to the Republicans last November. Not sure what is going on in Pa but it is a great state and deserves better.

Can’t say it was stolen. I know more than a few people who stayed home because they would not vote for OZ. The carpetbagger label really hurt him with a lot of PA voters.

I’m a Pennsylvanian and I didn’t vote for this guy. Nor did the Pennsylvanians who had yard signs for Oz. I saw the signs everywhere even in backwoods areas where the deplorables would supposedly never vote for a Muslim. The election was stolen.

Good points. I don’t get why so many Penn staters would vote for someone so obviously damaged.

Just looked up the exit polls and the reason is obvious besides partisanship. 78% who were pro abortion voted for Fetterman. That probably swung it. (What is really surprising are 50% who were concerned about crime voted for Fetterman to 49% for oz????🤔)

As I’ve told others the idea that a Supreme Court of 5/7 leftists would have made their ruling weeks before the election is patently ridiculous. I don’t care a dam of it was on the docket either..they would have figured out how to delay it. Thanks Trump for picking a slew of moderate judges.
