An attorney for one of the leading members of the right-wing Proud Boys group said on Thursday that they need assistance from the Justice Department to subpoena former President Trump in their ongoing seditious conspiracy trial, according to multiple reports.
Norm Pattis, the attorney for Proud Boys member Joseph Biggs, said in court on Thursday that they need the government’s assistance to serve the subpoena due to the presence of Secret Service, according to the Washington Post.
“At all times relevant, Trump was president of the United States, and it’s the government’s obligation to produce him,” Pattis said, per the Post.
“Donald Trump called on patriots to stop the steal,” he added, according to NBC News. “We’re calling on Donald Trump to take the stand.”

Everything the Proud Boys heard from Trump was recorded. These recordings are the best evidence base and far more reliable than human memory.

Joe Biggs was a long time on air personality on the Alex Jones show back on its heyday. He was a combat vet that brought an edge to the program back when Jones was much more mild mannered.
The article makes it sound like a subpoena may have actually already been rendered, but the secret service is blocking it from being delivered.
I doubt that’s the case, but this isn’t the first case where defendants asked for Trump to testify on their behalf, which Trump has so far declined to appear, and in those cases the judges refused to subpoena him.
There’s probably no chance he wants to appear right now, with the J6 special counsel going on now.
But I agree with you, that he could, and possibly should have testified when some of the other defendants asked for him to last year.
Just go in there as a witness and explain what happened. He wouldn’t have been a defendant in the case, just a witness. He could have given powerful testimony on how he only wanted the protest to be peaceful, how he tried to secure it beforehand, etc. It could have helped those defendants a lot, even if he only appeared once.
Sure it would have opened him up to some cross examination, but not as much as appearing before the J6 committee, which was another opportunity to present his version of events, rather than just allowing others to write the official account of this all so far.

And the co-founder of Proud Boys— a Canadian was, back in the day’s of the 2016 campaign, on several shows of his with his guest... Tucker Carlson. Vice Media co-founder and former commentator Gavin McInnes had Tucker on his then show, now called “Get off My Lawn” . The origin (and many postings on FR) of the group was in Taki’s magazine (described by looney left and wiki as being neo-fascistic, which is a laugh as the true Fascists are Left wing, AntiFA are Communist Fascists- and there is such a thing).

The non-federal infiltrated OathKeepers have a definitive pledge (the fedgov is trying to filter them into non-existence) not to fire on civilian American citizens and many other ethical stances against tyrannical central government).

I would think you just need to play Trump’s speech that day and leave it at that. I seem to remember Trump saying something about being civil and not do anything stupid. The fact the Proud Boys decided to do something stupid is not on Trump, but on the DC Police and Pelosi because Trump requested the National Guard to be there and Pelosi declined to do anything.

Yes, indeed it would be enough but not for these supposedly Proud Boys (again, are they even for real. they certainly got arrested, and if they are cut outs and fake, yeah they would demand Trump subpoena as part of their continuing fakeA@@ contract with the feds.) Two for the price of one— destroy the Proud Boys by painting them as they wish, and... get Trump.
All the crummy take a knee fedgov types, the shave head fakes, all of them— fear Trump, and the facts about what the Bowser/DC/Pelosi organizers of a “riot” of rent a riot types— every one of these is afraid of the truth as to who and what they are and what they did.
