Bracing for impact As Russia continues to pummel Ukraine’s power grid, Kyiv plans to move substations to underground bunkers

The attacks have left millions without power, sometimes for days at a time, and almost five months later, they show no sign of letting up. In response, according to Forbes Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities plan to transfer some of the country’s transmission substations to shellproof underground bunkers. The first two facilities could reportedly be ready as soon as next winter.

This is closer to what I expected earlier. Why waste manpower and munitions when you can bring then to their knees by cutting off the comforts that keep them competitive. This also cuts off their export capacity of their being able to produce ferrous metals like cast iron, rolled steel and steel pipe. It also will hammer their agricultural capacity which accounts for 41% of their overall exportation.

Russia never wanted to destroy the Ukraine. They’re worth too much. So if they can quietly force them into submission through cutting off creature comforts like heat, food, and worth, they come out well ahead as they just take it over. They should have started this way and kept everyone else out of it but Putin’s too egotistical.

I expect all pro-Zelensky posters to move to Ukraine to fight the evil Putin. I am sure they are all tired of posting Ukraine victories here. Now they are ready to go into action to bring Putin down.

I saw a piece earlier today where the guy says that rumors are flying all over the place in Eastern Europe where the Poles are in plans to invade Belarus.

Guy stressed it was just rumors but, there are so many saying it that he is suspect that it might actually be a fact.

Part of western Belarus was part of Poland at one time.

Russia targets substations because they pity Ukrainians and they are easy and cheap to fix. Hide them, and they will target generation, which is near impossible to fix. Military objectives before mercy, you know.

The Polish might want to occupy Brest and put a “government in exile” in place. Taking Belarus as a whole is a bridge too far for Poland.
On the other hand, it is going to be the stupidest Polish mistake since 17th century.

Tell you what. They are itching for a fight.

That is a direct confrontation with a NATO country since Belarus is a Russian ally.

And pig face bidet will likely OK it.

Russia would like to kick the crap out of Poland but politically it is a bridge too far as well, for now.
If Poland decides to insert itself this way, Article 5 wouldn’t apply.
They would simply level Poland, including the air bases involved in supplying Ukraine and decimate US&British deployments in the country.
Then CNN can scream “Russian aggression” and make stuff up, but the international law will be on Russian side.

“Article 5 wouldn't apply.”

That I understand.

But it would be an escalation of monstrous proportions.

It brings the conflict outside of the Ukraine boarders.

The escalation of proportions would be a nuclear strike on Miami, and the following ultimatum for the Washington to butt off.
It is not beyond imagination, given clowns like Hodges and Petraues saying that Ukraine needs to be given long range weapons and that targets in Moscow and other major cities.

Destroying Poland over its aggression is just common sense in light of the above.

It would be idiotic

At Polands current pace they could be the dominant military power in Europe in a decade and have far more influence-this would be the end of those aspirations and repeat the cycle of Poland being far less than it potentially could as always

Rumors being pushed by the Russians. This is nothing new, the Russian trolls have been saying this for a year.

“Could be in the future” is the key. Right now it is not, and such development is going to effectively prevent it. Also “dominant power in Europe” doesn’t mean anything close to Russia, US and China.
