If the rat party nominates a clown and they have done many times, they still get out and vote for the candidate, provide funding etc.
If the Repubicans nominate a clown, the GOPe is out criticizing the candidate the evening he or she wins the nomination, provides little or no funding, and doesn’t really try to get out the vote.
So the rat clown wins almost everytime!

Not a fan of the man or his politics, but just a few weeks back I had to have my appendix removed so I was in the hospital for a few days... sadly a 38 year old was wheeled in as my room mate after suffering a massive stroke.
We are all humans, and too many from both sides of the aisle seem to forget that.

Back during the last election fraud cycle, IIRC, during a press conference, the pedoPIG made the public statement to the affect that Uncle Festus was going to make a fine, upstanding Senator for the state of PA.... LOL..
Thoughts and prayers for him and his family. I may not agree with most of the views of his party, but I wish him the best in his mental health and well-being.
Usually such an appointment is until the next state-wide election in November. The appointment is not for the entire remainder of the six year term.
