Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry's family quietly sold their private jet to a New York-based hedge fund following intense criticism of the plane's carbon footprint in light of Kerry's work fighting global warming.
The Kerry family's private jet, a Gulfstream GIV-SP, is no longer owned by his family's charter firm Flying Squirrel LLC., according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) registration information reviewed by Fox News Digital.
In financial filings submitted since joining the Biden administration, Kerry had reported that his wife Teresa Heinz-Kerry owned a stake worth more than $1 million in the firm.
The plane's registered owner is now listed as AV Aviation LLC., a small firm based at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut. Documents filed with the Connecticut state government shows that AC Aviation is a subsidiary of the New York City hedge fund AC Investment Management which specializes in renewable energy and clean technology investments and manages funds worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
FAA filings suggest that the plane was transferred from Flying Squirrel to AC Aviation on Aug. 22. Four days later, an individual named Yvonne Rivera requested the FAA place an industry-level Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed (LADD) on the aircraft to block it from being publicly tracked, according to information obtained by Fox News Digital via Freedom of Information Act.
However, the plane, which most recently flew from Connecticut to Los Angeles this week, is still trackable.
"Secretary Kerry travels commercially in his role as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate," Whitney Smith, a spokesperson for Kerry, told Fox News Digital in a statement. "I can confirm the plane previously owned by his wife’s family was sold last summer."

Either that or he’ll just charter a jet when he wants to go somewhere. Because his time is so important, don’t you know.
Okay, but he’s not going to stop traveling at the same pace on the same type jets.
It’s his total travel time on chartered or other’s private jets, not weather he owns one.
When is his number up by the way. I though he would have gotten chin cancer by now.
How about the yachts, fleets of cars and houses?
So the Kerry family just passed the problem along. What hypocrites! Shouldn’t they have burned their plane instead? Or maybe just dump it in the ocean?
Oops! That wouldn’t be environmentally friendly at all. They should have placed it in a really big recycling bin. Yes, that would have been better.
Flying Squirrel?
That fits cuz Kerry is a squirrel. A self-absorbed POS who never was as smart as he thinks he is and never has produced anything or ran a business. He’s basically an American Gigolo who married in to money. Kerry once was on a sailboat with JFK and apparently believes his $hit does not stink because of that one event in his life.
Probably planning on future flying being on taxpayer owned jets on the the taxpayer’s dime.
If he were a true believer he would park it, not sell it.
Now that he’ll be flying cattle-car class with the rest of us, I look forward to talking to him...
I remember when he was running for POTUS. He said the Chevy Suburban SUVs he was riding around in were not HIS. They were owned by his family. What a POS.
He flies commercially? LMAO, sure he does. Has anyone seen him?
The plane was sold, ok, THAT plane was sold, how many others do they have? Did they buy another one??
If he was truly trying to improve the climate, he’d have had the plane destroyed so that nobody else could use it.

That’s a fact. I used to fly corporate jets and the people you fly around, don’t fly commercial. One big reason is because of the time spent at commercial airports. When you lease a jet, the customer usually just checks in at the FBO desk, and either walks out or drives to the plane, boards and they’re on their way. Once they land, they are greeted by a driver, and they are whisked away.
I’d bet he “sold” the plane to a friend, who let’s him “use it, on occasion”.
But how many planes does his bankrolling wife The Ketchup Queen own?
She’s the one with the barrels of cash.
