I agree with you that the Nazis in Ukraine are a minority. I’m just saying they’re probably a bigger minority than in other countries.
Watched an interview program with 100+ y.o. WWI veterans.
Harry Patch’s story is fascinating. He was on a Lewis gunner team. During the Battle of Passchendaele one night he and his team were out front on a forward position. They pulled up and headed back to their trench. Harry was leading, carrying the Lewis gun. There was a ravine coming up. One of his mates told him to get low and go down via a low spot rather than walking out on a high spot before going down. His mate told him they’d be silhouetted. Harry said he was tired and ignored the advice. They all followed him. When they got to the bottom a mortar round came and exploded just over the last man obliterating him. It also killed two others. Harry was haunted by the guilt for the rest of his life. Probably lived so long to prolong having to answer to his mates. He basically said as much during the interview. He was really broken up about it even at >100 years old.

So at best 1% of the population are Nazi supporters. That’s not bigger than say north america or Russia

You are going to get a lot of blow back for that comment. I’m sort of sitting here in the middle of this not sure what to think about the escalating proxy war against Russia. I am always skeptical of “Nazi” claims, but also am mindful that Zelensky has put all his eggs in the Democrat basket.
I meant it as a joke against everybody and their mama claiming Ukraine is full of nazis.
No he wasn’t and keep in mind he warned FDR about Stalinist Russia. In fact Churchill was known to abandon some freedom fighters that he deemed too Marxist. He was well aware that Russia was simply a convenient ally at the time, but was never comfortable with the West’s relationship with them.

Do you realize that Churchill was a guy who offered Stalin Eastern Europe and half of Germany in Tehran? Otherwise there was idea that he is not going to chase the Germans back to Berlin.
Also Churchill was strictly against the formation of Israel, believing that it is a communist plot.
And that is just a couple of his antics.
I guess my history is different. My belief was that it was FDR who wanted to give the entire baby with the bath water to Stalin and Churchill begged for something less.
Obviously I take issue with WWI Churchill whose Germanphobe outlook caused him to support punishing Germany after that war.

I was surprised that you viewed Churchill as a Germanophobe.
Churchill was a monarchist, supporter of the British monarchy which was Kraut in origin and closely related to almost all the crown heads of Europe. A legacy of Prince Albert’s foreign policy - make all the crown heads one family (his family mostly!) and that way preserve peace in Europe. Well he tried !
