I guess my history is different. My belief was that it was FDR who wanted to give the entire baby with the bath water to Stalin and Churchill begged for something less.

Obviously I take issue with WWI Churchill whose Germanphobe outlook caused him to support punishing Germany after that war.

How does that square with this Churchill quote:

Hogwash, FDR was out of ideas on the issue, except he liked the idea that the Soviets are going to move beyond their borders, for the same reasons as Churchill.
Do you realize that it was a Soviet action to establish Israel? FDR initially was negative to indecisive, Churchill strictly against it.
