Nicola Sturgeon is to resign as Scotland's first minister after more than eight years in the role.
The Scottish National Party leader is expected to make the announcement at a hastily-arranged news conference in Edinburgh.
It is not thought that her departure will be immediate, allowing time for a successor to be elected.
A source close to Ms Sturgeon - the longest-serving first minister - told the BBC that she had "had enough".

Mind you, the modern Scot is not the Scot of the 20th century that built Western civilization. They are a disappointment to me.

I know Scotland has been emasculated but it looks like even the Scots have a limit to the woke madness.
Having a bit of Scot blood in my veins I take some interest in Scotland’s future. IMO they’d be absolutely insane to declare independence. They should look at what EU membership has done to Ireland (my other ancestral homeland). Once a proud and decent nation Ireland is now nothing more that a tawdry little European cesspool.

I live in the US (despite what the Ukraine Operatives may claim) and I STILL know her name. I shouldn’t know the name of First Ministers in the UK, or Premiers in Canada, or just about any other local leader other than in the US...but I know her name.
She really got my attention when she took control of parenting in Scotland to the point that every child has an ‘advocate’ that they talk to, privately, and if the child says something, anything, that the ‘advocate’ doesn’t like (like Mommy yelled at me last night, or heaven forbid, gave me a mild spanking or opposed my sexual conversion), the parent is looking at jail time, or at least ‘re-education’ if they ever want to see their child again.
People in the US think ‘it can’t get any worse’, she PROVES it can get worse, far worse, if you give the Left free run.
