Despite the evacuation order being lifted last week, locals have since questioned authorities' assurances that the area is safe.
More than 3,500 fish have been killed due to the toxic runoff, while footage of the aftermath shows plumes of toxic smoke still lingering in the area.
Some residents are also reporting persistent coughs, while farmers in the area claim their livestock are dropping dead in large numbers.
The EPA said Tuesday they have carried out 'robust air-quality testing' in and around the area of the crash, and confirmed they have 'not detected any levels' of chemicals that could cause harm.

The stuff in Ohio, however, apparently has a threshhold to cross before it's considered unsafe.
So these people in Ohio should be ok unless, of course, there were people smoking on the train.
They also said the water was safe to drink, and that Biden won the election in 2020 by a wide margin and there was no voter fraud
Oh I almost forgot, the Covid shots are safe, masks work.
According to Caroline Orr Bueno, PhD:
"Just so we’re all clear, the guy whose tweet about the train derailment/chemical leak has been retweeted more than 112,000 times is the same guy behind the anti-vax documentary Died Suddenly. His Twitter feed is a mix of anti-vax/bioweapons misinfo & satanic conspiracy theories."
The guy she refers to, is Stew Peters:
‘We should know when we have trains carrying hazardous material that are going through the state of Ohio.’

Pretty much anything which renders air non-transparent, other than H2O, is apt to be a respiratory irritant and thus promote coughing. And things that are merely respiratory irritants can be significant problems, especially for those with asthma or other pre-existing respiratory issues. But they are a separate and only partially overlapping issue from airborne toxins. Locals there don’t know whether there’s a toxin risk beyond what the evac zone and a modest amount of time can handle. And they don’t believe government “experts” because they’ve all been acting like the “dickless” guy from Ghost Busters the past few years. So, needfully or not, they panic. And history is clear: in panic people do dumb things, dangerous to themselves and others. They need the truth, but not delivered by a flashy Bill Murray type who’d stir the panic. But rather by a boringly competent believable sort like Harold Ramis’s character. Although the movie’s response to “dickless” Peck is applicable.
The EPA is evidently jealous of the CDC and how out of control
it became.
Go EPA! You can do it... /s
Absurdity is not just a dirty four letter word.
Not dangerous at all according to the EPA. But Dang it- your Gas stove is so dangerous.... It HAS TO GO!
