TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; Russia
KEYWORDS:
The people, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous cities have fallen or may fall into the grip of the odious apparatus of Russian rule, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our land, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if this land or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our allies beyond the seas would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the Free World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

It’s going to be sad when NATO ducks and runs and Ukraine is left with several hundreds of thousands of young men dead.

Gratifying to know the love they hold for Donbass and Crimea and all their Russian heritage inhabitants

You plagiarized Winston Churchill with your #1.

Why not give his attribution?

from the article -

"Astonishingly, only six percent of Ukrainians feel unprepared to take on Russia’s invasion, and even during a winter marked by blackouts and shortages they feel more prepared to face the risk of energy supply disruption than any G7 public.

Ukraine’s Western orientation is also unequivocal. The vast majority of Ukrainians want to live in a world shaped by European and, to a lesser extent, US rules (Figure 1.16). Russian and Chinese visions of order have virtually no purchase in Ukraine."

“Russian and Chinese visions of order have virtually no purchase in Ukraine”

Ironically, if you did the same poll on FR you would find plenty of folk willing to live under Russo-Chinese style despotism.

Now they say it. Yet they did nothing when Russia stole it. I think they’re waiting for us to get it back for them.

“You plagiarized Winston Churchill with your #1. Why not give his attribution?”

Because for people of normal intelligence that passage is so well known that isn’t necessary.

I suppose if I quoted from the Declaration of Independence you would be yelling at me for stealing the work of Thomas Jefferson.
