You have dug a pit and fallen in.
I. Don't. Care.
I am sure there are several conservative bleeding hearts who will want to gallantly ride to your defense.
I will not be among them.
You built this world.
Enjoy.

He still believes in this world. He's an old guard, hardline Maoist, upset that the Red Guard didn't think he was hardline enough.

It's his account of how an elite program for gifted high school students devolved into an "anti-racist" nightmare in which he, a black leftist, became a scapegoat for what has become a cult. Just as the original Chinese Communists fell victim to the Maoist Red Guards.
The professor was deemed inadequately Leftist by the seminar sponsors, and had to be replaced by a more radical grad student. I have zero sympathy. "As you sow, so shall you reap".

Yep.
Which is why I don't care.
I had someone the other day try to get me to support Bill Mahr of all people.
How about, no.

I don’t know if all of the problems can be blamed on the “unhoused”. They seem to conveniently forget the near total breakdown of law and order that occurred in Portland and many other cities across the country that was not only tolerated by the local authorities but encouraged. Once you lose a sense of law and order it’s hard to get it back as they are finding out. Too bad.

"They had learned, in one of their workshops, that objective facts are a tool of white supremacy."
It's called science, and yes it allowed us to develop many things, some used for good, some used for bad.
Machine Gun Kelly used a Thompson SMG to rob banks. Many American, British, and Russian soldiers used them to defeat Nazi Germany.
A cure for Malaria. The existence of sickle cell anemia, and treatments to help people manage it.

Joseph Sobran who made the observation that the achievements of Western Civilization are so disproportionately massive that we underestimate just how humiliating this is for others.

Ok Not even going to pretend to read the article or skim through it but....
The “revolution” always eats its own.....just ask trotsky.
I clearly remember reading about all of the trotsky communist sympathisers in lithuania and poland etc...who thought the golden sunshine had arrived when russian tanks marched into eastern poland and vilna in ww2, they were immediately purged by stalin because they were the wrong kind of communists.

The professor’s account was very interesting. Especially the animosity of the black students to the Asian students (who were probably running academic circles around them.) And it’s clear this “Keisha” grad student was a flaming psychopath.

No; he should be grateful, considering the type of people HE HELPED TO CREATE that they didn’t march him out, put a bullet in the back of his head then harvest his organs!

This is the template for destroying the DIE departments of “Woke” corporations, if people can stomach pretending to be ultra-Woke long enough.

'These things happen,' he began vaguely. 'I have been able to recall one instance -- a possible instance. It was an indiscretion, undoubtedly. We were producing a definitive edition of the poems of Kipling. I allowed the word "God" to remain at the end of a line. I could not help it!' he added almost indignantly, raising his face to look at Winston. 'It was impossible to change the line. The rhyme was "rod". Do you realize that there are only twelve rhymes to "rod" in the entire language? For days I had racked my brains. There was no other rhyme.' The expression on his face changed. The annoyance passed out of it and for a moment he looked almost pleased. A sort of intellectual warmth, the joy of the pedant who has found out some useless fact, shone through the dirt and scrubby hair.
'Has it ever occurred to you,' he said, 'that the whole history of English poetry has been determined by the fact that the English language lacks rhymes?'
No, that particular thought had never occurred to Winston. Nor, in the circumstances, did it strike him as very important or interesting. George Orwell 1984.
Try as he may, Ampleforth just couldn't be as devoted as Big Brother needed......neither can/could our black professor in all his anti-racist fervor. Maybe he'll take comfort in knowing Big Brother loves him all the same.
