A few weeks after five Memphis Police officers administered a fatal beating to Tyre Nichols on Jan. 7, 2023, rumors began circulating that there may have been a personal aspect to the case.
On Feb. 2, I reported:
It began with a rumor.
Sir Maejor, an ethnically black actor and model with a fair complexion due to albinism, tweeted Monday that “I am being told that Tyre Nichols was in a relationship with and worked at a Memphis @FedEx with #MemphisPolice Demetrius Halys’s ex-girlfriend & baby mama.” Not only that, but “After the beating Officer Halys took a pictures of #TyreNichols face and sent it to his babymama.”
The following day, Maejor added a disclaimer in all caps: “THIS IS MERELY SPECULATIONS AND OR A RUMOR AT THIS POINT — THIS INFORMATION HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.” …
Now, newly released documents sent to a Tennessee state board as part of the decertification process for the five former officers confirm that Demetrius Hall did indeed photograph Nichols after the beating, and he sent the images to at least six people, including “one female acquaintance.”
In January, the Memphis Police Dept. sent a statement of charges to the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) in support of its request that the board decertify the former officers involved in the illegal beating: Haley, Tadarrius Bean, Justin Smith, Desmond Mills, and Emmitt Martin III.

In the documents for Demetrius Haley, the files note:
“On your personal cell phone, you took two photographs while standing in front of the obviously injured subject after he was handcuffed.

The confirmation of a possible personal aspect to the beating is leading some to question the official narrative — that Tyre Nichols was just another unarmed black man murdered by poorly trained, brutal, racist police officers.
A personal aspect is worse. Do we really need police so secure in their power that they use the power of the state to enact their revenge?
What other government agents are abusing their office for personal reasons.
All of them.
Wouldn’t this up the ante to first degree? Would they all be eligible for death?
If Tyre had murdered one of them he would be.

I read one report say the victim was driving recklessly and aimed at a cop car. Did the offending officer set up the other officers by making this false claim, leading to the beat down by the other cops who didn't realize they were in the center of a domestic dispute and not tangling with a driver who was targeting cop cars?

I’m not an attorney but I think you are right on first degree murder.
If you hit someone on the skull with a steel baton one would expect that could kill.
All this for an ex?
If she was an ex was she supposed to remain celibate for life? She could never see other men?
This is ridiculous. Tyre had no criminal history, was gainfully employed and was watching after his kid. And they killed him (allegedly, they haven’t been tried yet).
A bevy of things what not to do...
ambush??...on a busy city street...8 o’clock at night??...over a dozen cops involved?...man, you guys got vivid imaginations...
From what I read, there is no call to be released because the cops didn’t call anything in

none of those rumors have been verified...they wont release the autopsy report...you cop haters just wont wait for the facts..
It’s noteworthy that once this “rumor” surfaced, the story almost totally disappeared from the alphabet media, and certainly from the Democrat mantra of ‘racist’, though it was mentioned only in a small part of the conservative media. (I heard it just a few days after the murder on the Joe Pags talk show.)
Well now this senseless beating has a revenge motive. I just found it impossible at face value.
