U.S. F-22 shoots down “high altitude airborne object” over northern Canada,
Lol, that’s classic! I’m stealing it…
All celebrity insults are public domain!
The amount of people who are not aware of NORAD in this thread is embarrassing.

Airspace is reopened – I will remain in contact with defense officials and share more information as it becomes available. Montanans deserve answers.
Better be glad. Cuz when it is actually shooting at other jets, we’ll be at war with China.
Not quite. Canada also has Shatner. Who not only has experience with UFOs but actually commanded a “UFO” in one episode.
Shatner belongs to the Universe, none can claim him.
Imagine if you had to defend US airspace from the obvious polar air route, if you had no access to Canadian airspace. Back in the day, we had the DEW Line - Distant Early Warning - a line of radars in the Canadian arctic to detect bombers, missiles, etc. Also, in the day, nuclear air to air missiles were contemplated to break up Russian bomber attacks. Better those nucs went off over Canada than the US. The attacks never came, but you can argue the defense was effective. If we were forced to defend the US only at the US borders, it would be a much easier task to attack us.
Canadian defense is really an afterthought.
Yes, Canada has an air force.
We Canadians call it the Royal Canadian Air Farce.

It has no intercept aircraft that can operate at 60 to 80 angels.
Don’t forget Sergeant Preston of the Yukon.
It was a great adventure show when I was a kid.
That’s his side kick husky, Yukon King
Why should Canada stick its neck out? They can now tell an irate Xi,While pointing southward,: “They did it”, “they did it”.
Perhaps Biden didn’t dare to give the order, afraid that Xi would be pissed at him and deny him the 10%.

Wish I could truthfully say that
Why nobody suspects Russia?
Canadian Forces F-18s to be replaced by F-35s.
Incorrect. The Canadians tried 20mm cannon fire on a balloon a few years back. Pumped around 1000 shells at it. Took 3 days to come down. The shells just pass through the cloth, making little holes.
I do want to see your slingshot that can hit a balloon @ 40,000 ft., though. Sounds like a great varmint plunker.
