Retail giant Walmart is set to shutter multiple stores across three states after they failed to perform as well as expected, a company spokesperson has confirmed.
A Walmart in southeast Albuquerque, New Mexico, is closing down in March after underperforming, as is the South Halsted Street, Homewood store in Illinois.
One store located at West Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is also shuttering next month, a Walmart spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement. Another is shuttering at Route 59, Plainfield, Illinois, in March.
The spokesperson said the decision was “not made lightly and was reached only after a thorough review process.”

Guess I’d better give up hoping for the WalMart north of me ever going back to, “OPEN 24 HOURS.”
I used to be able to go there at 2AM, stock up on dry goods and occasional coffee goodies for work, work my 12-hour shifts, then go straight home and unload my truck. Giving me more time at home on my days off.
Then...covid.

The Albuquerque one is in a really sketchy part of town. Nobody who can shop at another will go there.

If there are any Target stores nearby, they had best double up on their security. There are about to get a whole new class of “shoppers”.

Maybe the store owners figured something out…
Maybe inner city blacks aren’t buying arugula, radicchio and broccoli.
Maybe it spoils and is trashed over and over so they don’t stock it.
These stores probably have rampant theft.
Instead of blaming thieves, it’s a institutional racist issue…
NM isn’t the poorest or lowest IQ state, because Mississippi is a state…
Walmarts are the reason you have to actually go to a Walmart to see the Walmartians in their natural habitat. You never see them in any other stores.
Maybe people are getting tired of trying to shop at their stores and having empty shelves and yet employees are running around with carts having 8 to 10 blue baskets filling online orders because those customer$ are worth so many more $$$.
