The Sun has always fascinated astronomers. And now, a new development has baffled scientists. A huge part of the Sun broke off of its surface and created a tornado-like swirl around its North Pole. Though scientists are trying to analyse how this occurred, the video of the development has stunned the space community.

Q: What is the difference between “a huge chunk of the sun broke off” and “a large solar flare?”
A: A “journalism” major vs. a reporter with an eighth grade understanding of science.
Can a solar flare affect us here on earth? Sure, if it’s big enough and pointed our way. This is why those of us in the know keep aluminum foil and duct tape on hand. The main problem, of course, is that women and minorities are always most affected.
If it was not so obviously an overreach, this could be added to the excessive list of things said to be evidence of or caused by Climate Change
At least it happened on its north pole where its cooler.
They don’t know why its hotter in the corona of the Sun than its surface.

In watching this video I did not see anything “break off”. I saw a sun burst or solar flare but no debris. Did I miss something?

Not exactly what happened. These “experts” have been studying the sun for decades and they still dob’t understand what is going on.
