The official representative of the organization Marta Hurtado said that the UN is also aware of another video in which the Ukrainian militant who shot the prisoners confesses to committing the murder, and also tries to justify his actions, explaining them by the fact that the prisoners, allegedly, resisted, and were also employees of the Russian PMC "Wagner". However, Hurtado stressed that these explanations can in no way serve as an excuse for the criminal actions of a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who violated the existing norms of international humanitarian law.
In a video published in social networks, a man armed with a machine gun in the uniform of the Ukrainian army in Ukrainian language asks questions to a Russian soldier lying on the ground, after which he kills the prisoner with a shot to the head. In total, three captured Russian fighters were recorded on the video.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated that the fact of the alleged murder of three captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will be investigated, the identities of the persons involved in the commission of this war crime will be established, and all the circumstances of the incident will be clarified.
In addition, the UN expressed to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine concern about the illegal treatment of Russian prisoners of war.

NOT GOOD—Double UnGood! The mask is pulled from the “Brave Hero” Ukraine troops. This is a horror that will sow seeds of revenge and hate.
In the movie “The Dirty Dozen” Charles Bronson was facing a hanging for shooting a fleeing soldier, one of his own, to stop him from taking off with all the medical supplies. Lee Marvin sympathized with his reasoning but said “You let someone see you do it.”
With cellphones being everywhere today, someone’s always “gonna see you do it.”
"Killin' Generals could get to be a habit with me."
It’s a great movie!
One of those movies that if I see it on TV, I stop what I’m doing and watch.
Each time, I root for Jefferson to make it...
This goes on in every war, by both sides, but just because it happens does not justify anything, let alone murdering POW’s.
My recollection of history brings up two occasions where certain events encouraged harder fighting for revenge. 1 being “Remember the Alamo!”. #2 was in WWII Battle Of The Bulge, where Germans were murdering Americans.
My point is, the Russians will not like this anymore than the Texans or the WWII Americans and will give them that little extra nudge to kill every Ukrainian they come across.
Zippy’s Russian hating crew had best get out of Dodge, for if and when the Russians win, they are toast. Like the Nazi’s of WWII, many will escape. But war criminals that do not escape will be strung up or shot on the spot as they try to flee.
Sadly, the Ukrainian pecker piano playing pervert will escape with his millions of laundered dollars to some mansion.
If it were the real Jim Brown, all Jim would do is turn around and say, “That’s gonna cost you 35 yards........Give me the ball!”
The peoples of greater Russia (the Ukraine, Byelorussia, and Russia) have always been brutal in times of war, and always will be.
It’s their way of life.
Europe’s putting pressure on Zelensky to surrender while America will have none of it.
This can NOT be...all my enemedia channels are telling me that the Ukrainians are fighting off the Russians with Coca-Cola, flowers, and overbearing hugs. They are not able to be angry, violent, or mean. They don’t want to even fight for their own freedoms, but they must. And I’m sure (according to our enemedia and too many gullible FReepers) all Ukrainians are purer than the virgin Mary before Jesus was born.
This must be some kind of mistake.
War crimes is a bs trick and no one should be tried for them. In war there are almost no rules and those that are are self interested. Slavs and hispanics generally don’t take prisoners. That is just a fact , the same with Arabs. It is the way of the world.
Taking prisoners requires using personnel to guard them and resources to feed and house them. Killing them frees up personnel and resources.
If you are the invaded party, it makes no sense to take prisoners.
Do you ever actually listen to what you say?
This is a propaganda rewrite of a from four months ago. The source of the topwar.ru story story is TASS (link). TASS ran a story making claims about what a Western official/authority/expert said about alleged Ukrainian war crimes, without providing any links or context to who, what, when and where or links. Those are clues TASS is making things up. The TASS story is a plagiarized rewrite of this story: "Videos Suggest Captive Russian Soldiers Were Killed at Close Range" Nov 22, 2022, NYT, four months ago.
"We are aware of the videos, and we are looking into them,” Marta Hurtado, a spokeswoman for the U.N. Human Rights Office, told Reuters on Friday."The Friday in question was November 18, 2022. This was about the video where Russian soldiers were surrendering and one came from around a corner shooting. The Russian who opened fire committed perfidy, pretending to surrender which is a war crime. He and his comrades paid for it with their lives. Killing soldiers pretending to surrender is not the war crime, pretending to surrender is. The Japanese did this so much during WW-II, it was one of the reasons Allied soldiers did not take prisoners because it was too much of a risk to their own lives.
In the original stories from November, Hurtado did not affirm the videos were authentic, while acknowledging they existed and the UN was investigating. She also stated the UN was looking at accusations of war crimes on both sides. The allegations of Russian war crimes are much greater and have more evidence, like the mass graves at Izium found after the Kharkiv offensive. TASS purposely leaves details like that out of their reporting.
What TASS did is rewrite a story from four months ago, changed the context around, added bits of other stories, downplayed accusations of Russian war crimes, and treat it as if it is a new story. This is a common Russian state news propaganda technique.
Stories like this are for domestic propaganda purposes, not for international consumption. As bad as the Western news is, the Russian state media is always worse.
