GoFundMe has removed multiple fundraising pages set up by strangers to help the elderly rancher charged with murder for shooting dead a Mexican migrant on his Arizona ranch.

I agree that he needs a better lawyer, but I’m just wondering what his claim of self defense is based on. Was the illegal armed or trying to break into his home? I mean I can sympathize with those living near the border and the things they have to put up with, but on the other hand if he shot an unarmed man for trespassing he’s screwed.

If an illegal were trespassing on my property, I would consider that a threat to my safety.

Well if that illegal was unarmed and not in the process of breaking into your home, then you will likely be prosecuted if you kill them. Maybe take a self defense course and learn the law.

My suspicion is that the public defender lawyer assigned to his case HATES HIM and is DELIBERATELY TRYING TO HARM HIM by not requesting bail reduction and apparently not giving him ANY constructive advice,

All public defenders are extreme leftists, this guy will go down with a murder charge unless he can get a private attorney. I don’t know what a jury pool in his area looks like, but a good attorney could probably get the charge reduced to manslaughter or negligent homicide, depending on what facts are to emerge in this case.
