They're trying to destroy the Ukrainian army, not take territory.
In fact the only people that will win in this war are all outside of Russia. Even if the Russians obtain their goals they will have an Afghanistan like resistance forever.
And have lost the connections to the rest of the world.
This is true if they try to take over all Ukraine. Putin must be content with his slice where mostly Russian Speakers live, to take more would be foolish. Too many have died. Give peace a chance—even if it leans Russia gets a piece of the pie. These questions can be addressed in the future—not worth losing cities in an exchange of bombs.

We never fought to win just feed the military industrial complex.

Thank the Good Lord for THAT. It is the only good thing that can be said about that war. But I suspect the Ukie cheerleaders in our government and the MIC would have no problem sending our troops to another war if they believed they could get away with it. The only thing keeping them from committing US troops is public opinion.

The sooner the liberation of Ukraine is completed, the SAFER the world will be.

The Russian military leaders have been quite clear regarding that strategy. If the Ukrainians, with their NATO hardware, want to be sitting ducks for Russian artillery near Bahkmut, then fine, Russia will destroy them (at very low cost to the Russians), before moving ahead to liberate the area.
I suspect at this point, the Russians realize that they only have a month or two to wrap up the fighting before Spring, so they’re finally pushing forward...but too bad for Ukraine, the hardware they need to stop the Russians is in ruins.

They’re kind of forced into it, since NATO will use whatever is left of Ukraine to turn it into a forward attack base (as they were in the process of doing a year ago, just prior to the beginning of the liberation of Ukraine).
How, exactly, the Russians end the war is, thankfully, their choice, but it will only end when Russia feels safe enough from NATO aggression to not need more territory.
