At today's House Oversight Committee hearing, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed ex-Twitter executives over her past banning.
I watched it live but don’t recall if she did or not.
What stuck in my mind is how she identified pre-Musk Twitter as a safe place for homosexual groomers.
those harrumph ex-execs have lives, don’t they?
since they are ex-execs, they might not have their perks. they may go to a barbershop, a filling station, maybe even a church to tone down their hypocrisy.
but in some small fashion, at some small point, there just might be “ an unfit, tilted, unwashed of the masses” that finds their way to a proximity, with the skill of a Mojave diamondback, at night, “to correct them of the error of their ways”.
My 30 year old opinion is thus:
“Enactors of white collar censorship need to be eradicated. They acted above the Constitution, therefore rewarding them with free shelter, food, clothing, and medical care for a tenure or a lifespan further throws dung in the face of the victims. I do believe that a rational, calm-minded citizen can divine the rest of the intended path, that I will not commit to viewing.
I formed this opinion in the year 1993, when desktop computers were starting to be ztandard appliances in the jome, and court cases were already being birthed through the Electronic Freedom Foundation, dealing with copyrights, and censorship.
She did.
Yes—a direct hit. Sunk their Battleship with that trenchant critique.
These twitter folks are despicable human beings.
Of course not, they are perverts.
They were not expecting to have their bowl of Corn Flakes “mixurated in” so soon after the midterms, or so triumphantly, or definitively, to the point where they can say nothing plausible in defense of their horrific behavior. Things are definitely getting interesting.
And it got her? Well maybe some headlines and some red meat thrown to stir the faithful. But in terms of something substantial?
I agree that she could have asked a question or two. The art is in how to ask. For instance, read the quote from the guy’s thesis about minors should be on Grinde, and simply ask “You wrote those words didnt you?”
By the way, the Congresswoman who preceded her did a textbook joh of a direct examination. Good example of how to take a friendly witness. (Particularly one who has been well prepped.)
Yeah, that’s quite arguably the valid criticism to which she left herself open by not articulating a question, or leaving the witness with at least a few seconds to respond to her remarks.
She’ll get the hang of it.
bkmk
“You wrote those words didnt you?”
Yep. Totally valid critique.
Pretty much all of the left are despicable human beings.
Wouldn’t be surprised in this day and age.
To me, a destroyed exec would be trembling, hat in hand and afraid to answer.
Pardon me for asking, but was she reinstated, or is she still banned?
I guess I should also ask, where can I find a list of all those conservatives/non-woke accounts who have been banned for political speech but not reinstated?
Elon flipped a few when he took over, and I just heard that Pres. Trump can come back, but who else?
So they just have to endure being talked down to and threats the end of their punishment? No gallows, lethal injection or electric chair or gas chamber? Not even a cozy intimate solitary confinement box? Not even house arrest with an ankle bracelet? Not even restitution and paying a steep fine? Not even being tarred and feathered in public?
Part of me feels that way too - however - years from now historians will be reading our posts. I hope. And they may not be able to distinguish between sarcastic and non-sarcastic comments.
What about... dramatic irony, metaphor, pathos, puns, parody, litotes and...satire?
Excellent speech by MTG!!!
“To me, a destroyed exec would be trembling, hat in hand and afraid to answer.”
Her approach seems to have left that to the imagination.
Arguably better to have the eight- or twelve-seconds worth of damning footage showing that, directly, unequivocally.
