I guess Donnie's getting a little nervous about his poll numbers.

This is very un-Trump-like behavior, btw. He didn't employ anything like this type of tactic in 2016.

Trump did employ these types of tactics in 2016, but I don’t recall him doing it in early 2015. This is a bit early.

I mean, honestly, it is so pathetic. This from a man who was unfaithful to his wife and would nail anything that moved. I expect presently some of our more excitable FRiends’ hair will catch fire and the flaming will begin. . They’re immune to the notion that this kind of gutter politics doesn’t help Trump, and doesn’t help the conservative movement

I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” Trump

He didn’t need it in 2016.

He needs it now.

He is not doing well with the under sixty crowd.

Must have been hiding under a rock in 2016? The only difference between then and now is that you like the guy he's coming after.

Surely you can't be serious. This is the most Trump-like behavior he's done thus far. Trump insults, belittles, intimidates, drags, and bullies anyone who threatens his ego. And then once they are no longer a threat to him, or lined up behind him, he is much more magnanimous.

When it works, as it did in 2016, it's a frustrating but effective tactic. When it doesn't work, which it has yet to be shown that it doesn't, though 2020 and 2022 should be an indication to any candidate for office that the electoral landscape is about organization and vote harvesting much more than enthusiasm, it's petty and desperate.

Trump insulted Cruz’s wife and tried to make Cruz’s father out to be a Castro supporter from an old photo of a man who resembled him but wasn’t him. One of the reasons I didn’t vote do for Trump in the primary.

Marco "Foam Boy" Rubio, and Cruz's slug Angela Carpenter would disagree.

Trump was always about insults and personal destruction, and he was harsher on GOP rivals than on the Dems.

I voted for him twice but that was one of the things I didn’t like about him.

Dong things like this will certainly win him no friends now.

I assume you’re being sarcastic. This is classic “campaign mode” Trump. He is always on the offensive when it comes to political opponents. Trump’s poll numbers don’t need to be suffering for him to understand that DeSantis will eventually declare that he’s running against him. That’s why Trump is hitting him so early and so often. Why should he give an opponent a grace period just because that opponent hasn’t publicly announced his intentions yet?

Trump attacks his opponents where they are vulnerable. Who cares if DeSantis had a beer with some of his students? Not me. But then again, I haven’t spent a career trying to establish a holier than thou persona the way DeSantis has.

Yea he did and he did it to Cruz and people hated it here. Cruz’ dad killed JFK...or something like that. Good times, good times. Cruz won Wisconsin while Trump was doing it. Trump fights and that’s what is needed. Desanctimonius pays people for innuendo. He’s Romney. He has the Benefit of being governor while running for President so he can put out policy positions and say, “see, I’m actually doing it”. When he had the chance to Champion the changes that are needed he was voting against Trump policies, voting to take Trump negotiating powers and a bunch of other crap that 90% of the congress was doing. Wouldn’t have my support against Trump or Biden
