House Democrats are slamming Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) this week after he demanded steep spending cuts as part of negotiations with President Biden to lift the debt limit.
They’re pointing to the trillions of dollars piled onto the debt under Republican administrations, wondering aloud why GOP leaders didn’t prioritize cuts when they had the power to do so.
“These people are such hypocrites,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said Tuesday morning. “They don’t care about the deficit; they don’t care about debt. Every Republican president has increased the deficit, but the thing is, what have they used it for? They’ve used it to give tax cuts to the wealthiest.”
McCarthy, as part of the process that won him the Speaker’s gavel, had promised his conservative detractors he would oppose a debt-ceiling hike unless it came with Democratic concessions to slash federal spending

McCarthy better not give one inch to these commie defectives. You can’t negotiate with crazy retardos.
“Congressional Progressive Caucus“ = CPUSA
In FY 2022 total government spending was $6.27 trillion and total revenue was $4.90 trillion, resulting in a deficit of $1.38 trillion, a decrease of $1.40 trillion from the previous fiscal year. And that does not include the giveaways of the bilateral aid to Ukraine between January 24, 2022, and November 20, 2022 totaling $48 billion.
Speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

In a flock of ugly, Jaypal is definitely in the team picture for ugliest progressive congress critter
She can try to score political points, charging Republicans are hypocrites, but, what the heck is the Democrat plan to deal with debt and deficits????
Scoring political points does not do anything to solve the underlying spending problems of the federal government.
So let’s have that debate. Let’s use facts, such as how debt and deficits have happened under both parties. So then, this should prompt her, for telling us, what is the DEMOCRAT plan to deal with all of this?
It’s easy to say that Republicans are full of it, but much harder to say, what is your Democrat solution to the nation’s problems.
dems want a blank check
end of story
$4.9T in receipts is a record. @2.75% now the interest on the debt paid last year was $850B. Doesn’t the CPUSA know interest rates are going up? It will squeeze out entitlements and other “investments”.
Thank Joe & Co for that lower standard of living. Can you say “Stagflation”? I knew you could.
There is enough responsibility for both parties. That does not mean you can ignore the debt problem. Our children and grandchildren will pay the consequences for pointing fingers at each side. Can’t reasonable people see this?
Democrats haven’t finished with their goal America is still alive.
The Democrats never ever stop bitching!!
Amen or cheating
“Doesn’t the CPUSA know interest rates are going up?”
Not until it hits a majority of the people in the pocketbook. For many years the population has been converted into an “accepting level” to the point of inconvenience. The public really misses the point about their grand parents telling them about walking to school in the twenty foot snow drifts because that same public has been taught that society owes you a living whether you go to school, or earn it or not. They’ve been taught to recognize non-existent faith rather than reality. And the faith is in the false God of government rather than the one from above.
Are we turning into a third world country? Look at the southern borders and you might rethink that. The world is turning us into one and the people we vote in are willing participants. Aren’t we lucky...or stupid. Enough of us have passed enough grades to be trained to that level of intelligence. And the government keeping us there is to their advantage as anything they do is considered acceptable. Ask the media. They tell you that. Baaaa.
