Dell Technologies is the latest technology company to announce job cuts, saying Monday that it will be cutting about 5 percent of its workforce, or about 6,600 jobs.
According to a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Dell will cut 5 percent of its global workforce to respond to a “challenging global economic environment.” Co-Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke said in an email to employees that the company is facing market conditions that “continue to erode with an uncertain future,” which will require restructuring the organization and letting some employees go. “In the coming days and weeks, you’ll begin to see a series of changes — some resets — across the organization to better structure us for the future, to better collaborate, reduce complexity, increase speed and to accelerate innovation,” Clarke said in the email that was included in the SEC filing.
Dell is the latest company in the technologies industry to announce layoffs. PayPal and Workday also announced rounds of job cuts last week, eliminating 7 percent and 3 percent of their workforces, respectively.

I’m not surprised that computer sales are down at Dell. Companies have been switching to Microsoft Surface Pro computers and Microsoft Azure Virtual machines for their remote contractors (instead of dedicated PCs to remotely connect to).
Isn’t Dell’s corporate headquarters in Texas?
So this is what BUILD BACK BETTER!! looks like.
Let’s go Brandon!
Yes Garland I believe.
So what is used to host the virtual machine?
GREATEST ECONOMY EVAH!!!!
I didn’t realize Dell was still a thing.
Best economy ever! Ever, I say! Historical even (or maybe hysterical—I get those two words confused sometimes)!

He coulda just said “your fired” 😏
Good there are well-paying jobs in the construction, manufacturing and pipeline and energy industries today for these high tech workers to go to!
I’d like to see, “Federal government to cut 400,000 jobs” due to bloat, redundancies, and wide spread corruption.
Gotta spin.
Bet he has a great Golden Parachute just in case.
“But we added 500,000 jobs in January! This can’t be!(S)”
Happens all the time. 6,000 layoffs is nothing in an industry that is more directly impacted by interest rate increases than almost any other industry.
They will be refilling those positions as soon as rates come back down next year. 12 million americans work in tech positions. 0.0005% of them just got laid off.
And a new gig with Hewlitt Packard no doubt 😏
They could start by getting rid of 'Co-' officers. Why do they need a Co-COO?
Not surprised.
Computer market has become the new VCR market. Saturated to the point that no one truly needs a new computer because theirs works fine for Facebook, e-mails and funny cat videos..................Same thing is happening in the Smartphone market.....................
Because they are coo-coo for coco puffs?...................
According to reports and a thread I created the other day, federal agencies like the NSA are hiring these people up.
