DNIPRO, Ukraine—Russia is regrouping its forces in eastern Ukraine and launching offensives along five lines of attack, Ukraine’s armed forces said on Saturday as officials in Kyiv and Western capitals continue to warn of a major Russian push to gain territory.

The main focus of Russia’s offensive remains the besieged city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, which it is seeking to surround and capture. The Ukrainian military said it had repelled multiple attacks, inflicting significant losses for the Russians.

Russia will create a salient that is deep into Ukraine. The salient will be double enveloped and the Russians will die by the battalion load in the trap

The Battle of the Bulge is history repeating. Russia lacks the wherewithal to effectively sustain the gambit

The United States and its proxy thought they could win the war by saying they were winning the war

Very good observation.

All the talk about how much bigger our "economy" is than Russia's? Same thing.

Onlyfans, McDonalds and people opening new credit cards to incur debt to Chinese factories is not an economy.

It's really scary that our leaders thought taking those things away from Russia would make their "economy" collapse.

Donbas 2023 -

dead Russian soldiers pile up in the streets as the Russian economy does a Stuka-like high-speed-dive straight into the ground

“Putin’s greatest blunder”

Putin kicked our ass in Syria, and will now do so in Ukraine. Hopefully other countries will learn from this but with so much corruption and money to be made I doubt it.

What makes the Ukraine so important we need to waste our own to save it?
The money laundering part?
The Bio Labs part?
The feel-good about paying the politicians’ salaries part?

“NATO let alone Ukraine we’re not going to invade Russia despite all of putins paranoia .”

Correct, the goal was to just dismember Russia, as NATO is doing to Serbia right now.

“Does anyone here think that ‘The Media’, who have been lying to us for years (decades, actually) has suddenly started reporting the truth? And all the usual suspects (Biden, Soros, The Media, et al) are supporting Ukraine... Does anyone believe THEY are now doing the right thing?”

Oh, don’t fool yourself, they know. In some cases here they’re p-whipped by a wife, others have meant politicians in Ukraine (and bragged about it), and I’m sure others are represent what we’ve now learned through the Twitter Files - they have a job to do, that simple.

“Present day Ukraine is not a unified people as so many falsely believe.”

Don’t fool yourself, they know it’s an ARTIFICIAL NATION, pieced together from lands that belonged to others. But with the goal of weakening and then dismembering Russia, it does well to serve that purpose.

“I just can’t get past putins own words that...(Ukraine) belongs to Russia.”
Link please.

“Everything else may be true and likely is, but putin invaded Ukraine because he wanted it”
There was ONE EASY WAY to find out - just have the Neocons agree to the terms from a year ago, before the invasion. If the tanks STILL moved in, I likely wouldn’t be opposing support of Ukraine. But the Neocons wouldn’t answer the phone (since they didn’t think that Russia was serious), so here we are - they got their war.

“Just my 2 cents and I don’t expect to change any one’s mind
Agree, at this point, most of the people commenting now who know the history have taken one side, while others, for various reasons, have taken the other side...and nothing will change.

“No, I don’t think Russia is rushing in the stop the bad guys, they may just want to take over and get the money.”

Whether Russia was content to stand by and watch millions of Russian speakers be driven out of Donbass and Crimea (or worse) during the Ukrainian ‘purification’ process can be debated, but in the end, Russia gets those territories now (and other than Crimea, they never wanted the those territories until the past few months), and as far as the wealth of Ukraine is concerned, that simply comes with the territories.

Your response was a non-sequitur.

It does not address my point at all, bit swerves into something else.

It does not follow.

It derives out of PURE ARROGANCE, and it’s the same ARROGANCE that makes the Neocons think they can win a land war with Russia in Russia’s backyard.

The thing that pisses me off about this Russia war almost as much as how needless it was for us to start it, is that we didn’t even beef up our military for it. At least FDR and Hitler knew enough to do that before getting into wars.

You point is that Russia went in for the money - Russia says it was to protect the people in Donbass.

Who knows, but yes, Russia now gets the wealth of Donbass.

“Putin is the one here who wants dead Ukrainians. That’s why he invaded Ukraine. He doesn’t care about dead Russians either.”

Yes, tragically, you are correct. putin is the aggressor. This is his war against Ukraine. We are fast approaching the one-year point and putin is still losing. Hubris does not win wars...
