KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukraine’s defence minister expressed confidence Sunday that Western allies would agree to the country’s latest weapons request – warplanes to fight off Russian forces that invaded nearly a year ago.
Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov told a news conference in Kyiv that Ukraine has already received everything from its “wish list to Santa,” except planes.
“There will be planes, too,” Reznikov predicted. “The question is just what kind exactly…. Consider that this mission is already completed.”

Send the Ukraine some balloons! they are unstoppable
Great. Now what about replacing these war materials? .....Or are we just giving away our future?
“what about replacing these war materials? .....Or are we just giving away our future?”
What war materials? So far the only things we have sent Ukraine are 40 year old Soviet crap.
If from day one we had sent a few hundred each of jets, helicopters, and tanks the war would be over by now.
The Clintons got $100 million in Russian money from the Uranium One deal. My guess is those funds guaranteed the slow walking of all aid to Ukraine.
Meh... and there will be S400s fired against poorly trained aircrews.
Which means WWIII will escalate by the day now.
“If from day one we had sent a few hundred each of jets, helicopters, and tanks the war would be over by now.”
Yeah... it might be over. Maybe not in the way you think.
Besides, Ukraine had an Air Force in the beginning. It’s kinda gone.
so then why are the Russian shills in such a panic?
You have vast stocks of war materials, made long ago, all slowly aging out.
If those are your “future” you are already toast.
Btw, this war is the main event, what all that army equipment was made for in the first place.
Not for fighting guerilla wars in the third world or a naval war in the Pacific.
And the planes we give them will just get their airbases hammered with missiles.
In Jet speak, the 4th Reich is way behind the curve.
oh, stop exaggerating
only 2 countries are fighting here ... that’s hardly a “World War”
Of course there will be planes. Those fancy new tanks are going to need air cover.
How many Ukrainian pilots know how to fly NATO planes? What’s left of the Ukrainian army is on the verge of collapse and so desperate for more cannon fodder they are trying to bring back refugees of draft age that fled to other countries lol.
This war is about over unless we can sucker the foolish Poles into it next.
I am not seeing so called shills in a panic. But I see neocons and the DC war party saounding like Hitler in his last days, waiting for some V-weapon that will turn the tide of the war.
Maybe the King Tigers...maybe the jet fighters... no wait, maybe the V2. And soon Detachment Steiner will come save them.
Countries don’t have to send ground troops to make war these days. They use Ukrainian cannon fodder and “advisors/trainers”.
Just enough to keep it going, never enough to make a decisive difference. It’s a dangerous policy but there it is.
“So far the only things we have sent Ukraine are 40 year old Soviet crap.“

He’s just another lying Ukie shill.
And, of course, there are SAM systems coming too, to help stop the cruise missiles. And the planes will help deal with the cruise missiles also. The F16’s with AMRAAMs and look-down-shoot-down are likely to be very useful for that. And to relieve the ammo problem for the old Ukrainian S300s.
Btw, if it was so easy to shut down an air force with cruise missiles the Russians would have done it to the Ukes by now. But they haven’t, as it just wastes ammo.
They got the blackmailer files on Biden that says it will come true
“Btw, this war is the main event, what all that army equipment was made for in the first place.”
The long held dream of the Generals and neocons. The collapse of the USSR made them feel cheated out of their main event they always secretly wanted. It’s a sickness.
