I am the farthest thing from a neocon (they actually hate me). My paternal ancestors took a lot of poop from Russia (fighting 17 conflicts since the 16th century) as well as from the Ukrainians (whose Nazi allied militias wrecked havoc in eastern Poland less than a century ago). I am also smart enough not to drink the Putinist propaganda that has been drunk by morons all over the internet and view Russia as a huge threat to Europe and not a potential ally to the US.
Those who are dying die for one reason: they take drugs that were not prescribed for them as a form of “recreation”. So drug deaths are only culling the herd of some undesirables.
