Vindman leads new push to send military contractors to Ukraine

As a private citizen over the past year, Vindman watched the slow Russian buildup along Ukraines borders and, he said, became concerned about how Kyiv would support and sustain a long conflict. Vindman and his twin brother Yevgeny, also an Army officer, were born in Ukraine and immigrated to the U.S. as children.

Since the invasion last year, the Biden administration has approved hundreds of Bradley fighting vehicles, Strykers, Humvees, mobile howitzer systems and now Abrams tanks for shipment to Ukraine. But those machines must be taken from Ukraine to Poland or other NATO countries for major repairs, costing Ukrainian forces weeks as they wait for their armored vehicles to come back.

Weve got all sorts of resources going into depots and advanced bases in Poland, mainly, and inside Ukraine basically theyre on their own, Vindman said in an interview. Its something he hopes to change in the coming weeks if the money, the support and the workers can be lined up.

Vlad is accomplishing very nicely the “ disarmament” of not only Ukraine, but the EU and collective West, US included. There is little chance the bankrupt and de industrialized EU can replace/ rebuild their pathetic militaries to pre war levels inside a decade.

Germany ( the largest arms producer) has acknowledged the cheap Russian metals, energy , commodities make rearming a cost prohibitive venture.

Why is the EU and US so rabid about committing suicide?

It is becoming clearer everyday the EU and collective West will emerge much weaker ( spent) while Vlad ( whose arms manufacturers have been gearing up 24/7 their military since 2015) will emerge much stronger. Russia has no shortages of war materials, manufacturing, war aged men or arms.

We can only hope when the last chapter is written, NATO will be no more, and the EU will go further into bankruptcy attempting to build an army capable of defending their failed union……OR the EU can simply learn to get along and resume trade ( which they sorely need) with the Federation of Russia.

Some will profiteer off it, may it be the media, politicians, war industrial complex, pundits...

The true secret to judging if these issues become an avalanche is if there is any political / economic interest working against it.

If there is no counterweight, then these issues often become an avalanche of stupidity, i.e. Covid.

The MSM made their money, politicians used it, some businesses profiteered from it, the government bureaucracy saw an opportunity, some medical establishments got their name in the press...

Big pharma made so much that they are hiding their profits to avoid a public backlash. Biden and the Dems have Covid to thank for getting into power (it took away Trumps Royal Flush, the economy)... There was no real opposition once they squelched Trump and it became a monster that grew beyond control and into the realm of absurdity.

Today you have the same with Ukraine. Fed in part by our own propaganda machine we created (we are basically paying for and allowing Ukraine to psyop us, in part with US contractors, paid for by US tax dollars), while censoring any outside or differing views and positions, with little to no political influence nor direct economic leverage (Russia has little), this has become a slippery slope where we are going ever further down a hole and no one is asking if this is truly the best for us, or even the best course for Ukraine, Europe...

If it were the PRC (communist China), because of their influence on our MSM (which is substantial), their importance to our business as a manufacturing base and for sales of our products (#1 in both aspects), their influence on our political system (lobbying, party and campaign contributions etc), you have a counter weight and will not see us act that same way, i.e. Taiwan vs, Ukraine (similar situations which we are dealing with entirely differently).

Some issues simply become a beast because there is nothing to stand in their way, no political / economic (same thing really) interest which pushes back as with climate change (some stand to lose money), gun control...

With Ukraine you have the Euro's on board, NATO on board, US and Euro businesses wanting this, the DoD and US intel community supporting this, some old Cold War relics behind it, a MSM that like Covid has a story... There is no counterweight, no one pushing the arguments (which there many of) that contradict the trajectory we are on. So what you have is a one sided issue where there is no true political, legal, public discourse. A decision is made and like an avalanche it takes off.

The only problem here is that while Covid devastated our economy but got Biden and the Dems into power, made billions for some, gave the MSM their story 24/7, pundits their 15 minutes... this is flirting with a major theater war between two nuclear powers and will have lasting consequences as they pay us back by arming folks that are hostile to us (they will eventually pay us back)...

When the dust settles and the average American begins to forget this story, having moved on to the next national emergency, we will continue to pay for this one. But all of those arguments and issues no one cares about today. Those are things that will be discussed in 5 - 10 years, and it will be interesting to see how we spin it then, how we somehow attempt to disassociate what is happening then with what we do today.
