Inflation has rocked the United States in the past year, with Miami being hit hardest as the Federal Reserve desperately struggles to corral the soaring cost of living.

Miami, Phoenix, Seattle, Atlanta and Philadelphia finished 2022 with the highest annual inflation rate increases.

Higher energy, rising food prices and housing costs have been cited as the top drivers of inflation, including in Florida, which may be a victim of its own success, as the state is home to four of the top ten most moved to cities in 2022.

Los Angeles and San Francisco metro areas had the lowest increases.

There have been increases in the SF area, a dozen eggs earlier this week were selling for $9/10 a doz.

I got a dozen of the local store brand at 8$’s. That was the last dozen of the store brand large eggs. Some eggs were priced at $10/dozen.

I’m just north of Phoenix. Eggs are no longer on the menu, being more expensive than top sirloin. Butter is 3x what it was two years ago.

Nevertheless, I, for one, welcome our new Overlords.

As like as I get an increase in the weekly ration of chocolate, I’m happy as a pig in shit.

As a resident of a suburb of Seattle, I can confirm that the grocery prices are sky high. I cringe everytime I check out.

As for housing prices, they are high; but, we have lived in the same house for 40+ years. It had occurred to me that this might be a good time to sell; but, hubby is still working and the rental prices are higher than our mortgage payment. So, staying put, for now.

I get a dozen duck eggs (bigger than jumbo hens eggs and richer) from a local guy for $4.00/dozen.

We lived in Seattle for years but moved much further north last year. Prices are still ridiculous due the Dims, but nothing near as bad. We wanted to get away from the city, and now when I look outside, I usually see absolutely nobody. It suits us just fine.

Here in SW Ohio (Dayton), our electric rates are 3x higher than 1 year ago.

Stolen elections by communists have consequences...and we are getting near a 2A response to save our Constitutional Republic.

My little city is easily over 100% higher cost of living since the chomo took over. Housing, food, propane, gas and diesel, eggs, veggies. Anyone here had to buy animal feed lately? Goat food, 200% higher. Chicken food. Doible. Hay, double.. I laugh when the chomo supporters say inflation ain’t so bad.

home prices here have at least doubled over the last 5-10 years in the mid-price range. At the low end.. the prices have gone up by as much as 10 TIMES over the same period of time!!!

10 years ago... at any given moment you could find dozens of low end homes (small 2 bedroom 1 bath homes in bad shape build mostly in the 1920’s, in ruff neighborhoods) for about.. $15,000-$20,000 all day everyday

Now.. those same homes like... $150,000 !!!!

and these are HORRIBLE houses! Where you have to dodge bullets just to get home and are almost at red tag level of maintenance.

It’s nuts

I’ve been feeling good about being in the same home for many year too... then last week I was told my duct-work needs to be replaced - and the estimate was a little over $10,000. Five years ago it would have been half that.

There will be some correction, especially in the housing market. The population is simply not there due to our low birth rate. We have some immigration but it’s not enough. Florida is an outlier because everyone wants to move there.
