A video of two students viciously beating a 9-year-old student on a Florida school bus has surfaced online, alarming the community and prompting a swift reaction from the girl’s parents.
The disturbing footage shows two boys repeatedly striking the girl as she is folded over in a seat, barely defending herself with one hand as she tightly grips her backpack with the other. Many of the punches land on the girl’s head, neck and face.
No fellow students or adults intervened to stop the brutal assault.

I they had tried to stop it, they would have been charged with assault at best, and a hate crime at worst.
The drivers are not trained to intervene, but are to call first responders. Even that will result in possible charges.
Really wasn’t surprised to find out.
This absolutely boils my blood…
> Bus drive would have been brought up on charges of abusing a minor. <
Which gives me an excuse to tell another story from my public school teaching career.
A colleague of mine once broke up a viscous hallway fight between two girls. The girl on the losing end was being hurt petty bad. Blood everywhere. So my colleague stepped in, and broke it up.
But no good deed goes unpunished. The girl who was winning the fight pressed charges against my colleague. “He groped me!” That was certainly not true, and the charges went away. But the stigma never went away.
So who wants to step forward, and break up the next fight?
You are correct in that not intervening could result in the injury or death of an innocent. I would have intervened, instantly. But I’m an impulsive sort of person. And it’s actually amazing that I made it to retirement without getting into too much trouble with the bosses.
Anyway, it’s a complicated matter. Please see my post #25.
“Because we are a now a cesspool nation.”
We are a nation being run by trashy people. Everywhere — the White House, the Congress, entertainment, etc.
They’re practicing to be cops when they grow up
Just another “random” attack by random blacks attacking a random white person. It is all so very random.
What’s that supposed to mean?
It shouldn’t matter, but you all commented on race, so...
(1) NOT BLACK-ON-WHITE: I don’t think the mother would call her 9yo daughter “white.” The mother was interviewed here: https://youtu.be/NXpRQ91dqdw?t=59
(2) VICTIM HITTING SMALLER GIRL AT BEGINNING: The 9yo girl is seen at the beginning of the video hitting a smaller girl first. Watch - she’s standing and hitting a little girl who’s sitting down: https://twitter.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1621503944005668866
What was that about?
(3) Then, the bigger boy started pummeling the 9yo girl. He was wrong and should be punished.
This is the very reason cities have emptied out.
In our area only the wealthy who can afford to spend $25k a year on private schools are still in the city. If you have three kids it’s like buying a new Mercedes every year and then giving it away to some lucky stranger.
Do that for twelve or thirteen years for each kid.
Then on top of that you have college tuition.
Otherwise you move to the suburbs where people are generally better behaved and the schools are good.
Instead of ESL classes, school districts should buy Babble or Rosetta Stone.
Amputation of the arms of persons like those feral boys would stop their ability to ever do this assault again.
It was black on white. I watched the video.
Follow the link in my post to the interview of the mother.
Is this a hate crime?
A mother can be a different race than the child. The victim is white. The violent attackers are black. The video is clear.
Of course it is.
But you can rest assured that charge will not be brought up.
> . I think retired Seals and Rangers would be great teachers. <
I once taught in an urban high school that had a Junior ROTC program. The program was run by a no-nonsense retired army colonel. His deputy was an even more no-nonsense army retired master sergeant. That guy was scary.
Funny thing about that school. Fights almost everywhere. Chaos almost everywhere. But no fights in the JROTC wing of the school. And no chaos in the JROTC wing of the school.
Quite the coincidence, eh?
