In a more forceful and assertive program than with the Japanese just after Pearl Harbor (during their sabotage campaigns in the US and because Americans were pulling them out of cars and beating them) we could take the 290,086 Chinese college students hostage here. Or the ones in high tech jobs sending passwords and secure data to China each day.
I used to have a saved article about federal agents putting handcuffs on two Chinese employees in a tech company in the US and hustling them out and the agents told the remaining staff "for the sake of our country we don't want you to discuss anything about what work they were doing when we arrested them."
