A massive spy balloon from China is flying over the continental U.S., government officials said Thursday.
"The United States government has detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon that is flying over the continental United States right now," Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder told reporters. "NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) continues to track and monitor it closely."

I agree but Gen. Milley has advised Biden not to do it for fear of wreckage hitting a populated area.
The balloon was seen over Montana earlier Thursday, the official said.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that there was a ground stop in Billings, Montana, on Wednesday but an agency spokesperson did not share more details.
Earlier Thursday, a senior U.S. official described the balloon to ABC News as the size of three buses, with a technology bay.

Wonder if something could be done to obscure its view of the ground. Launch our own drone underneath it to spew smoke or something...
That's a ridiculous reason for not shooting it down. What are the chances it would hit anything in Montana? And even if it did, how much damage could a falling balloon cause? It's just an excuse for not doing anything against the democrats' (and especially the Biden family's) most important friend.
What could they possibly not know?
