The Biden administration on Thursday marked the 30th anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) by urging expansion of the provisions guaranteed by the law and inviting former President Clinton, who signed it in 1993, to speak at the White House.
President Biden was also joined by Vice President Harris to commemorate the signing of the FMLA in the White House’s East Room.
The law requires certain employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave if employees are sick, have a new child in their household or are taking care of a sick family member, without the risk of the staffer losing their job.
Biden on Thursday issued a memorandum calling on the heads of federal agencies to “support access to leave without pay for Federal employees” so that they can bond with new children or take care of their own health or the health of their family members.

I’m surprised his pecker hasn’t fallen off
Vigorously opposed back in the day ... I wonder how many “conservatives” today would angrily defend it?
Maybe it has
Then HR tells you you may not pay your good employees for time they need off because the deadbeats on FMLA will file complaints with the feds. It's awful for everyone.
My employer forces you into unpaid FMLA leave if you have been sick for five days.
Try explaining to a cardiologist that you really, really do have to get back to work or you won’t be able to pay their bills...
The Givement leeches.
Is a pretty good idea that the stupid party got outmanuvered on by Democrats. Could have tied it into short term disability payments run by non profits that employees could purchase as part of their benefits pkgs. There would be bare bones and generous plans, marketplace competition and if you didn’t want it you just got the unpaid time. Might have even been a market for employer insurance to fill the gap for lost productivity. Instead we got a law that no one is happy with and any attempt to change gets you labeled as trying to throw women, minorities, children, and disabled into the street. They are always hit the hardest.
I halfway expected George Bush to be tagging along too, clapping at all the Government approved jokes like a wind up toy.
According to testimony by Kathleen and Paula, there’s not much to fall off. Apparently its the size a roll of quarters.
If I have to hear one more guy tell me that he received “paternity leave” I’m going to scream. Sissies.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Does it surprise patriots that the FMLA is just another constitutionally indefensible example of corrupt federal Democratic machine vote-buying cunning imo?
Consider that post-17th Amendment ratification Democrats and RINOs unconstitutionally expand the federal government's powers by "buying" votes to stay in power by making constitutionally indefensible "civil rights" laws based on stolen state powers.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Democrats further unconstitutionally expand the fed's powers by later simply expanding the scope of a previous unconstitutional law, evidenced by Biden's urging to expand FMLA.
Note that this criminal (imo) approach to expanding the fed's constitutionally limited powers was evidently recognized as early as 1803.
"If it were, in fact, an unconstitutional exercise of power in congress to pass a law establishing the bank, nothing can manifest the impropriety of over-stepping the limits of the constitution, more than the act which we have just noticed. It shows that the most unauthorised acts of government may be drawn into precedents to justify other unwarrantable usurpations [emphasis added]." —Article 1, Section 8, Clause 6, St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries 1:App. 262--64, 1803.
Are we having fun yet? 8^P
The bottom line...
All MAGA patriots need to wake up their RINO federal and state lawmakers by making the following clear to them.
If they don’t publicly support either a resolution, or a Constitutional Convention, to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by amending the Constitution to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A), doing so before the primary elections in 2024, that YOU will primary them.
If the proposed amendment was limited strictly to repealing 16&17A, relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification of the amendment imo.
With 16&17A out of the way, my hope is that Trump 47 becomes the FIRST president of a truly constitutionally limited power federal government.
In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my breath for significant MAGA legislation to appear in the first 100 days of new term for what may still prove to be another RINO-controlled House.
Trump will hopefully do another round of primarying RINOs for 2024 elections.
Better then a mushroom that one ex president has according to the women he was with.
