The real joke is that several years ago the Santa Clara CA PD parking lot was routinely used to dump stolen cars.
About three weeks before they would be towed.
They would not be found to be stolen until the tow company filed their paperwork.
By that time the insurance had usually already paid out.
This is the same incompetent PD who’s desk Sargent was robbed at his duty desk one night.
Still the case. just not as often.
It’s not/wasn’t the police parking lot though, its the Bus station across the street. Easy enough to leave cars long term due to being a bus station.
Police public lot has room for maybe 5 cars, 2 handicapped.
Ever wonder where those cars were towed to?
