When did promoting the drive to communism become the flagship of the Right? Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee may not be driving that train, but he’s on it and giving directions.
He’s right on and righteous when he brags about “Tennessee’s status as the “lowest tax rate per capita in the nation, the lowest debt rate per capita in the nation, and the fastest growing economy of all 50 states.” Were those achieved under his term? At least he didn’t undo them. But …
His examples for what he intends to focus on in his second term looks like Agenda21/Great Reset. My sorry conservative eyes see nothing but Sustainable Goals. In Kaitlin Housler’s Tennessee Star article, she states:
The governor highlighted five specific areas he intends to focus on during his second term as Governor – transportation, energy, natural resource conservation, environment preservation, and protecting children in the state’s foster care and through the adoption process.
Those are not necessarily Sustainable Goals until you read the fine print. In a previous article, Housler homed in on just one of those topics from his speech: “his Transportation Modernization Act of 2023 in an effort to address transportation needs across the state… This is where we get down to the nuts and bolts. Let’s look at them.
The proposal, according to Lee and (Tennessee Department of Transportation) Commissioner Butch Eley’s presentation, does not:
Propose raising the gas tax or issuing road debt
Spend a disproportionate amount of funds in urban areas, to the detriment of rural areas
Reduce road and bridge maintenance budget
Propose toll roads

That's how these infernal pigs destroy the country, viz. seize control of the major metropolitan district, then force their crap on the rest of the state.
Nashville/Davidson County have been solidly blue for a long, long time, as you say, Lou, and the craziness in Nashville is steadily increasing. As far as the rest of the state, it is solidly red, with 8 of the 9 congressional districts having Republican representatives. The Tennessee legislature’s last reapportionment plan flipped the 5th district (which includes Nashville and had been reliably Democrat), so that only Shelby County/Memphis is now represented by a Dim (Steve Cohen, Commie Clown).
As to Gov. Lee, he is no DeSantis but is a lot better than former Gov. Haslam.
I wouldn't touch any modern US city with a ten foot pole, however (well, maybe Lincoln, NE). There are many I wouldn't even drive through (Memphis).
This one by Tom DeWeese, explains the “RegionSmart Development District,” and how it was stopped. The perpetrators didn’t really stop - they just changed their tactics, and decided to go for a softer landing.
And a different article by Kathleen Marquardt:
Blue Ovals and Infrastructure Boondoggles Are Targeting Tennessee
What globalists do is a stealth attack on more than one front. What they can’t get directly, they will get indirectly, under the guise of “progress.”
An additional flank in the attack against Tennessee and other southern states is the Thrive Regional Partnership.
Their “Impact Areas” are: Community Prosperity, National Treasures, and Transportation and Infrastructure. The first two are very soft and feely - who wouldn’t want to help communities prosper and take care of our natural resources? But the third impact area is hard as nails - and it is the real reason for the existence of the organization.
Their purpose is to affect legislation regarding transportation and infrastructure - by guiding money and resources - and to achieve exactly what the “RegionSmart Development District” was originally intended to do. It will take longer, but they may prevail.
This is how globalist interests take over - aided and abetted by federal money. They create innocent-sounding rhetoric that aims to undermine and neutralize local control.
The Thrive Regional Partnership’s modus operandi is to convince local and state businesses, corporations and other organizations to donate time and money - as "investors" - to help them achieve their objectives, which sound warm and fuzzy, but in reality they’re about realizing the questionable globalist goals of “livability” and “sustainability.” This can involve the taking of private property via eminent domain, and all the other green goodies that are being shoved down our throats on a daily basis.
