President Zoran Milanovic has repeatedly criticized Western policies towards Russia and the Balkans

Croatia's president on Monday criticized Western nations for supplying Ukraine with heavy tanks and other weapons in its campaign against invading Russian forces, saying those arms deliveries will only prolong the war.

Zoran Milanovic told reporters in the Croatian capital that it is "mad" to believe that Russia can be defeated in a conventional war.

"I am against sending any lethal arms there," Milanovic said. "It prolongs the war."

"What is the goal? Disintegration of Russia, change of the government? There is also talk of tearing Russia apart. This is mad," he added...

You expect Serbia to be critical of Western weapons for Ukraine but Croatia the old enemy of Serbia agrees.

NATO's Balkan flank is restless and to the southeast is Türkiye and Erdogan I noticed Serbia does a lot of diplomacy with them.

The Turks have been provocative with ships and planes in the Aegean as well.

Its time for a color-revolution in Croatia.

Victoria Nuland is working on it as we speak.

In the Cold War Yugoslavia was ready to fight the USSR but their strategy was not to provoke much less attack the USSR.

They built up arsenals of weapons for defense and or guerilla warfare.

When Yugoslavia broke up the Slovenes and Croats had the weapons stockpiled to achieve their independence from Serbia

One nice thing about the Ukraine war is how it has shattered (anti-American) Washington’s leadership on a global level. It still spouts off like it is in control but apart from the most sycophantic countries in western Europe and a few other allies sprinkled around the world it’s effectively isolating itself. Diplomats around the world must be laughing behind Biden and the US State Dept’s back.

Nothing to do but surrender to Putin, according to the Croatian President. I don’t think so.

Milanovic, as the article states, holds a largely ceremonial political office; that office does, however, exercise control over Croatia’s military.

Milanovic is very pro-Russia, whereas the Croatian government is not.

So, his comments are to be expected.

“The Turks have been provocative with ships and planes in the Aegean as well.”

Provocative against whom? And, it’s not as if Turkey went out of its way to have activity in the Aegean, because the Aegean borders Turkey’s western coast. The article says nothing about Turkey’s “provocation” in the Aegean. Do you have a link for that? Thanks.

Türkiye has been provocative towards Greece including comments from Erdogan himself.

France sent warships and planes to patrol with Greece last year.

It’s a real thing...

Oh, I thought you were talking about something new. Turkey and Greece have had a “dispute” for multiple generations. So, what you are saying really is not provocation; it is the status quo.
