People want a real Mustang not a kids battery operated one
gaining traction?
slashing prices is not usually a sign of increased demand
A very normal thing to do when supply exceeds demand . . .
“Within 7yrs, there’ll be millions of unsold EVs, sitting in fields, and the world’s mfgrs’ production plants will be empty, after spending TRILLIONS on this idiotic EV crap.” (CH’s post on previous FR thread).
During our last visit to China, to see my wife’s family in Beijing, we saw a huge, giant, mammoth EV graveyard. This place was south of downtown and covered about 20+ acres.
There was a road going through it that we walked on. There were hundreds of electric busses in rows of one after another. There were charging stations stacked up in piles about 20’ high. There were electric scooters and cars stacked up in piles as well. None of it looked very old. CH, you predicted this years ago, and we saw it, firsthand!
Their end game is for us to not travel. Period. You will all (I say "you", because I'll have passed off this mortal coil by then) be living in micro houses, eating bugs, and having your essential shopping within walking distance.
And you'll take it. Because you've taken everything else. Otherwise, you would have stormed the Bastille by now.
My neighbor has a restored 71 Ford Bronco, awesome vehicle, fun to ride around in.
I saw one of the pretend Bronco EVs yesterday. Pathetic, looks like a European econobox. Wouldn’t be caught dead riding in one.
Fools and their money soon part company.
[[ announced price cuts ranging from $600 to $5,900 ]]
Said in Maine accent “Gee, what a bahgin”
Still not buying it.

Can’t help but to think this think will flop worse than the Edsel.
I’ve only seen a few of them out there. Why in the world would they even call it a Mustang? It’s not a “pony car” by any means. It’s a small SUV.
“The move indicates that automakers are aggressively courting consumers as EVs gain traction in the U.S.”
ROTFLOL!
auto makers generally slash prices when a model isn’t selling well ...
EVs would make a great 2nd or 3rd car for running around town or commuting, especially if your employer has free charging. But charging, range and price will relegate them to 2nd car status for most families until those problems are solved.
That’s okay, folks are still lining up to pay 100k plus for a pickup truck that can’t tow, or haul anything of consequence a couple of dozen miles.
We just had a cold snap up here in the PNW. It was so cold my batteries couldn’t take a charge and BARELY just warm enough to let them discharge. It is bright and sunny but still can’t charge Lithium batteries when it is this cold. I am not looking forward to the days we are forced to drive these crap vehicles. And heating them, even just for defrost. Won’t that be fun?
