DirecTV announced Thursday that it has filled the slot of Newsmax with conservative outlet the First.
The contract is "multiyear," according to the television provider, with the First's programs featured on a free channel to DirecTV customers. Previously, the First was only available via streaming on Paramount Pluto TV, starting in 2019.
The First features the likes of Dana Loesch and Bill O'Reilly as primary hosts, as well as podcaster Liz Wheeler and Marine veteran Jesse Kelly. O'Reilly is the only host with renowned television broadcast experience prior to the First. He worked for Fox News for 20 years before he was fired over sexual assault allegations in 2017. Following his ousting, O'Reilly was in talks with Newsmax for a time slot of his own but kept his show No Spin News on his own website before bringing it to the First.

O’Reilly endorsed John Kerry over George Bush in 2004. O’Reilly is conservative? I guess Chris Wallace is conservative, too.
On the other hand I do pay about $5 Bucks each month for OAN. That is worth it to me.
Yeah, you’re right. I got it in reverse. Either way, it’s not about political philosophy as it is $$$$. But if the public is too foolish to know the difference, then why not exploit it.
The First is available in the App Store and the Roku Store. It doesn’t need any secondary source like DirecTV or Pluto to host it. I have had the app for more than a year and seldom watch it. I cannot stand O’Reilly’s delivery style. This reporter should check her facts about availability of The First. DirecTV must think news services are interchangeable. Cable/Satellite is a dying platform.
**I don’t think Bill O’Reilly still has enough public influence to effect elections this far in advance. No doubt Bill thinks he does.**
That guy has always been so full of himself, he probably has to avoid carbonated drinks. Because if he couldn’t burp, he would explode. My wife had him pegged long ago as a worshipper of himself.
You can get NewsMax and The First, plus many of Pluto’s other services in standalone apps. I find Pluto to be rather glitchy. It does have a guide style that many people like in hopping between offerings.
Yeah but being one of the top $$ maker news stations I. The nation, it wasn’t fair of direct TV to be paying less popular news stations while denying Newsmax. Newsmax was making g direct TV money- they shou,d have been treated equally, but direct TV decided they did t like the politics. The news “conservative” stations. Will likely jump through the hoops i. Order to keep the $$ flowing
Guy can’t even tell the difference between a Loofah and a Falafel.
I pay $2.50/ per month using the KlowdTV app. It gets OANN and lots of other offerings.
I can’t stand Bill OReilly he is an over arrogant bloviating POS!! OMG I hope direct TV and ATT take a HUGE HIT over this!!
In late last year, Dish Network got into a fight with a company that owned a number of Fox Affiliates around the USA.
Dish Network dropped them until the dispute was resolved.
Here in Jacksonville, FL the local Fox affiliate was not available to Dish Network subscribers.
All Fox was carrying was the World Cup and NFL Games.
Who do you think makes more money for broadcasters, the World Cup and NFL games or Newsmax ??
The point is, dropping Newsmax had little to nothing to do with with politics versus money.
c’est la vie!
I’ve never listened to Jesse Kelly. I’ll have to try to find his show.
I like Michael Berry. I listen to him regularly and have for years.

That just goes more to the point I was making. While Newsmax isn’t fox powerful, it has a far larger viewership than other networks which are gettng paid. I think perhaps politics and $$ are both invovled I n the decision. Newsmax is the 4th leading news station. Dish is paying a lot of stations with far less viewership than Newsmax. Why wouod a conglomerate drop a popular news station, while keeping ones, paying ones that have less than. 10th of the viewership of Newsmax? Does t make sense u less you factor in that some politics are at play
Musk’s assets in orbit will replace ALL of these liberal shits.
**Guy can’t even tell the difference between a Loofah and a Falafel.**
Lol, I didn’t either. I asked the wifey. She knew the first, but not the second. (She’s a marvelous cook, but not known for middle eastern cuisine.
I thought it meant “awful fall” falawful
Roku has Newsmax which I turned off after the dude walked off the set when Mike Lindell was making his case regarding the Big Steal. Real Americas Voice on Roku with the best news show War Room is where to go for news. I am a War Room junkie.
Dana Loesch was a major Never Trumper—ignore her.
More controlled opposition.
Liz Wheeler was good on One America News. She went to Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) after leaving OAN. She was always very pro-Trump.
