Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that his country needs long-range missiles to help combat Russian missile attacks following a blast in the Donetsk region on Saturday that killed three people.

“It would have been possible to stop this Russian terror if we could provide the appropriate missile capabilities of our military,” Zelensky said in an address posted to the president’s website on Saturday....

...Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.), a Ukrainian native, has also pressured the Biden administration to provide long-range missiles to the country....

give 'em small arms, they want large arms. Give 'em large arms, they want tanks and jets. Give 'em tanks and jets and they want long-range missles (capable, one assumes, of hitting Moscow). Zelensky's thirst for armaments is like a kid in a candy store.

I can’t wait to see tomorrows plea from the corrupt grifter. “Zelensky demands West give him nukes.”

Yup there’s absolutely no way that instead of attacking the Ukraine that Russia would attack the United States for supplying these weapons, there’s no way they would. I mean where the United States of America, superpower of the world, the king of the world And there’s no way backwards, ignorant, primitive Russia would ever dare to attack us. No sir.

>long-range missles

Ukraine has been fighting smart. Even with the GLMRS precision artillery they managed to hit all Russian ammo dumps in range. This has forced Russia to move its ammo dumps further back so it is already a win for Ukraine.

Giving Ukrainians ATACMS ammo with the old ones having 100 miles range and the newer ones 200 will save a lot of lives from Russian terror and help to drive the Ruskies out of Ukraine.

Zelensky's thirst for armaments is like a kid in a candy store.

American Neocons are using Zelensky to weaken Russia. That's why the Neocons are only giving Ukraine just enough to keep the war going, but not enough to win.

It's a replay of how the U.S. supplied the Afghans in the 1980s to weaken the USSR.

But the U.S. is not the same. We're a lot weaker ourselves.

* We have a much larger national debt.

* A much smaller manufacturing base.

* Far less world sympathy.

* The dollar's status as a reserve currency is shakier.

* And our demographics are worse than 40 years ago. Lower IQ, lower moral quality, less patriotic, etc.

We're not only hurting both Russia and Ukraine by dragging things out. We're hurting ourselves more than we might be able to survive.

(not saying the West will be giving those, of course, just that it’s going to keep escalating until those may be part of the equation)

Zelensky has already called for a NATO first strike nuclear attack, months ago. But yeah, since we didn’t do it, he probably wants some nukes. Why not give him long range missiles with nuclear warheads? Does he need B-52’s also? Paladin’s? What can we do to help speed up the apocalypse?

Not really mission creep but creeping support. From just a war perspective imagine in Ww2 where we could only attack german troops and industry in allied countries but not Germany and it’s allies.

Russia has launched a scorched earth policy on Ukraine and its civilians. The mass missile and rocket attacks have little impact on Ukrainian war fighting abilities.

Meanwhile Russian territory suffer relatively little impact and though himars have caused Russia some logistical issues all they have done is move their ammo, supply, and POL depots out of range. This is an inconvenience and puts a mild strain on their logistics overall not a game changer.

If Ukraine was given longer range missiles they would be able to attack those positions forcing the Russians to move their logistics hubs even further back and disperse them even more. Additionally infrastructure targets like rail hubs, bridges airbases launching attacks could be hit which would cause serious harm to their war efforts

The idea that Ukraine would start attacking cities like Russia is would be highly unlikely mainly because there is no strategic operational or tactical reason to do so
