On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” FNC host and former police officer Dan Bongino stated that the death of Tyre Nichols wasn’t a training issue, it’s “a personnel issue. These guys are just bad guys.” And the officers failed to follow their duty to defend everyone’s rights and argued that “The process worked” because the officers were immediately terminated and will be charged.
Bongino said, “I waited to comment because I’m trying to find any legitimate, rational reason that the situation was handled the way it was. There’s been a lot of commentary on this about training and other things and I don’t get where that comes from. Do you think anyone was trained to do this? This isn’t a training issue, guys. … Nobody is trained to do this. This is not a training issue. This is a personnel issue. These guys are just bad guys. Who does this? Listen, guys, there is no attempt in this situation — and again, I’ve been there, I’ve done this, I’ve watched this video now probably ten times — there is no attempt at all, at any point in this scenario to de-escalate, none, zero.”
He added, “Listen, as conservatives and libertarians and as any sane, rational lover of this country, it is our duty no matter who we’re looking at in this video, a cop, a civilian, or anyone else to defend everyone’s God-given rights are God-given rights…I’m not really sure that these cops understood that with this guy.”

Rat rules
Bongino is right
Sadly this won’t stop so many FReepers from blaming the victim for getting beat to death by five violent gang members.
The idea that this traffic stop was a planned hit has some merit to me. We’ve all heard of cops laying down a beating as they scream orders to “stop resisting” as if the person is fighting them. Five guys on one? Wouldn’t take thirty seconds to have him bagged and tagged. The victim was speaking in normal placating tones the whole time as they furiously beat the shit out of him. Explains why they weren’t worried about the body cams.
Truth be told there have always been bad cops, bad FBI agents etc
1. This SCORPION unit was set up as some kind of quasi-military organization to combat violent crime.
2. Because it is Memphis, the unit ended up getting filled with a lot of out-of-shape, retarded mutants.
3. The unit's standard operating procedure is to use traffic stops as a justification for searching vehicles and apprehending violent criminals.
4. As a result of their training and their retardation, it never occurred to them that some dude they pull over might just be a normal dude.
The irony here is that the single biggest point of fact that will drive the aftermath of this incident is that the victim was a FedEx driver. Memphis is the company’s main hub, and the CEO has probably had his staff calling every senior person in the city government and police department non-stop, 24 hours a day, since the incident occurred.
There should be federal charges filed
There should be civil lawsuits filed against all 5 criminal cops on the Goon Squad
DIE-versity hires.
You are right on the money.
These guys were trained to operate the way they did.
With that in mind, I believed this guy got swatted.
For whatever reason, these so called cops got info that this was a bad operator.
They did what they were trained to do.
Not victim blaming, but check the victims background, and you just might find the dude that swatted him.
It was likely a personal issue, based on prior dealings with Nichols, probably involving some corruption. But I’m just guessing to fill in the blanks re context.
Employ street gang members as cops and all you get is a street gang with corporate sponsorship.
“FNC host Bongino”
I must’ve missed something in the past year...
what those thug “cops” did to that poor Fedex driver is indefensible ... even worse, what they did was murder this working stiff with a family because of a traffic infraction stop ... everyone involved deserves to go to prison for a VERY long time and then burn in hell ... i’m a great supporter of the blue men and women, but these guys are simply criminals themselves ...
Wonder what the rioters are hoping to accomplish?
You can expect those 87,000 new IRS agents to be hired solely on the basis of diversity.
You go, Dan!
If Hannity is correct that there are 99% “good cops”, will the 495
“good” policemen in Memphis please stand up?
No he was not a driver but worked at a warehouse that is 3rd party run by FedEx. I know cause I worked with him.
