I typically don't make FR News posts, but there seems to be ZERO info out there on this issue. Nobody seems to be talking about why eggs are $5 a dozen. Was hoping Freepers in the egg-laying business could confirm or deny... or maybe even be made aware of the real culprit.

There is truth to this. Many of us are using goat feed and have our own birds to lay our own eggs. There’s a major problem with eggs and meat right now.

A guy I smoke cigars with has fancy chickens and gets feed from Tractor Supply. He has plenty of eggs.

In 2022 there was trouble with Tractor Supply hay. There was some sort of fungus infesting hay from the western United States.

The veterinarian told me not to feed that hay to my rabbits,

First, TSC did a drag show in Texas, now they’re poisoning our chickens?

Our chickens have been shut down. I suspect, just like the vaccines, they are introducing randomness into the process for “plausible deniability”. Which explains why some Tractor Supply feed is unaffected. I don’t think Tractor Supply is the ONLY chain affected.

I heard it was because flocks had to be destroyed due to some kind of avian flu.
I also heard that if you collect Marlboro flip top boxes they can be turned in so as to buy an iron lung for some poor soul.

I hear all kinds of things.....sometimes even voices.....

AVIAN FLU hit this country in fall of 2022.

IT is VERY CONTAGEOUS

Over 58 MILLION birds were killed to stop further spread of the disease.

It takes awhile for newly hatched chicks to get to laying status.

HAD NOT heard anything about bad feed...But even if that was a problem-—I don’t know how it could be nationwide-—all at one time.

All I can say is that my chickens have been laying as well as they always do this time of year. Supplemental lighting would help, but the lights I got have a broken timer so I haven’t gotten that working yet.

(I use the “Nutrena Hearty Hen” feed from Farm & Fleet.)

Two big factors.

1. High feed costs.

2. Decrease in number of flocks as the government killed 53 million chickens to try and stop the H5N1 virus spread.

52.7 million birds dead as of December 2022. Unlike other recent outbreaks, this one has lasted through the summer — and it’s still going strong.

This one is different as many migratory birds have it including eagles and ducks. Ducks appear to be carriers, but it doesn’t kill them. They are the Typhoid Mary of H5N1.

I doubt large hen laying operations use Tractor Supply feed. Almost 60 million birds have been killed due to avian flu.

Similar went around a few weeks ago. The claim was that some feeds are deficient in Lysine levels.

The egg shortage is worldwide due to Avian Flu, not just here.

Avian flu.

This article is ignorant. The industry does not buy feed from TSC. They buy in bulk, by the freight car and barge load.

USDA requires infected flocks to be killed if Avian Flu is detected. In mesico, they don’t and it spreads.

In one area of NE Oklahoma / NW Arkansas there are a millions of laying hens stashed out in the hills and woods all fed from one huge feed mill along the railroad tracks.

I’ve seen a few YOUTUBE videos warning others not to buy chicken feed from Tractor Supply.

It’s the great sentient chicken rebellion. They are refusing to lay eggs. And they are planning their attack.

Hens need a certain amount of sunlight to lay.

If you provide artificial light, they lay year round.

We don't and so Nov, Dec, Jan, we have minimal harvest and only from the youngest hens.

In the last week, production has picked up again.

We also combine free range with organic layer pellets.

I read that DuMore and Producer’s Pride are the 2 feeds sold by Tractor Supply that may have an issue...not poison, shortage or quality issue of key nutrients for egg laying suspected culprit...

So the high price of eggs isn't merely inflation, it's the result of biological warfare. Presumably by the Deep State, or we'd be hearing more about it from "mainstream" sources.

I'm not convinced, but I also don't dismiss it out of hand.
