Pfizer Responds to Research Claims

New York, N.Y., January 27, 2023 – Allegations have recently been made related to gain of function and directed evolution research at Pfizer and the company would like to set the record straight.

In the ongoing development of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer has not conducted gain of function or directed evolution research. Working with collaborators, we have conducted research where the original SARS-CoV-2 virus has been used to express the spike protein from new variants of concern. This work is undertaken once a new variant of concern has been identified by public health authorities. This research provides a way for us to rapidly assess the ability of an existing vaccine to induce antibodies that neutralize a newly identified variant of concern. We then make this data available through peer reviewed scientific journals and use it as one of the steps to determine whether a vaccine update is required.

In addition, to meet U.S. and global regulatory requirements for our oral treatment, PAXLOVID™, Pfizer undertakes in vitro work (e.g., in a laboratory culture dish) to identify potential resistance mutations to nirmatrelvir, one of PAXLOVID’s two components. With a naturally evolving virus, it is important to routinely assess the activity of an antiviral. Most of this work is conducted using computer simulations or mutations of the main protease–a non-infectious part of the virus. In a limited number of cases when a full virus does not contain any known gain of function mutations, such virus may be engineered to enable the assessment of antiviral activity in cells. In addition, in vitro resistance selection experiments are undertaken in cells incubated with SARS-CoV-2 and nirmatrelvir in our secure Biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratory to assess whether the main protease can mutate to yield resistant strains of the virus.

This is all interesting, but the entire story simply serves the “fear covid” (for everyone) and “better do what the news/social media says” (for sheep) religious-like narrative.

The media, corporations, state governors, and especially the US Deep State (yes, Trump included, unwittingly or not) was and is tyrannizing us beyond anyone’s imagination three years ago. Base your critical thinking skills and your behavior on that.

Under the guise of research they are creating a ways to eliminate most of the population to controllable numbers for their masters

"Working with collaborators..."

There's your weasel words right there. Of course Albert Boorla vould say, "Verkingk viss collaboratorsz". Think Dr. Strangelove.

Good observation. If it weren't for so many (the vast majority?) of people -- including older, and allegedly "conservative" people -- being such hypochondriacal cowards, in fear of their lives from what amounted to a souped-up cold virus, the population wouldn't have been so easily cowed.

The past three years have been pretty eye-opening. I wouldn't have thought that my opinion of people generally could have gotten any lower. But here we are.

Most people, regardless of their self-identified ideology, aren't interested in anything so abstract or esoteric as liberty, as freedom -- for themselves or for anybody else. Not really. They just want to be "safe," that's all.

A pretty pathetic show, all around.

So they are claiming that the gain of function research they did on the virus was for their oral treatments, not their “injected” treatments.

But how exactly would their stated logic for do so for the orals not pertain as well to their jab work, especially since they admit having already spun up such GOF variants?

And, how is GOF research for their orals any less illegal than it done for other claimed purposes?

Infectious Disease ping - Official Pfizer Press Release following recent disclosures made by the Pfizer R & D executive

Pfizer: “Allegations have recently been made related to gain of function and directed evolution research at Pfizer and the company would like to set the record straight.
In the ongoing development of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine,
Pfizer has not conducted gain of function or directed evolution research.

“With a naturally evolving virus, it is important to routinely assess the activity of an antiviral.

to assess whether the main protease can mutate to yield resistant strains of the virus. “

(My Comment) : Let us not forget that Wuhan was a Biosafety level 4 (BSL4) laboratory, one security level up, whereby the SARS-CoV2 virus was first located.
Also, laboratory work on Covid-19 was funded through working with various collaborators, who were funded through Eco-Health Alliance by NIH and various other government agencies.
Funding sources and collaborators are important and necessary resources that should be supervised to verify insight, development,
and to confirm that adequate security is maintained.
Naturally evolving virus generally become less deadly to the host, while infection level may possibly be increased.
Let us not forget that the claim was made by government officials that the vaccine would prevent infection, with a claim by Pfizer that it was 95% effective in preventing infection.
Later, testimony by the Pfizer CEO to the EU medical board clearly stated that the Pfizer vaccine hadn't even been tested for reliability for covid prior to its release.
In fact, that is a "vaccine" hidden in the closet/ storage, looking for a disease where it can be used.

They didn’t deny this guy worked for them, like several of the $hot $hills attempted to say.

And, we know they don’t call what they’re doing ‘gain of function’.

Speaking of Pfizer...

@EmeraldRobinson

The NFL can’t get Damar Hamlin to do a single interview?

The Buffalo Bills can’t get him to do a press conference?

And nobody in Buffalo has a single video of Damar Hamlin after he left the hospital?

Damar can’t even call into a local radio show.

If you’re wondering why the health status of Damar Hamlin is important then I’ve got one answer for you: Pfizer is a sponsor of the NFL.

Why? To push the COVID vaccines.

So you are just dismissing the videotaped confession of a pervert just two levels below the CEO at Pfizer. Next you will be telling us the Democratic Party is t full of communists.

No. The pervert did not explain the methodology ... I contend the need for 'new' vaccines came about by testing wastewater treatment plants... WHY? The so called Delta variant showed up across Missouri in wastewater treatment plants in May 2021... but people did not show positive for the Delta until July 2021, across the state of Missouri.. Where could Delta have come from except from the already vaccinated, shedding the 'evolved' spikes...

I was kind of hoping for the response: “…for the good of all of us. Except the ones who are dead.”

Seems to fit here.

I read it and understand it....and it's lame.

It pretends this is 'normal and required science', while it is neither.

The FDA pull a similar stunt when approving the predecessor to the implantable birth control 'Nexplanon' (Norplant).

"The Pill" was/is contraindicated for about 35% of women.

So, when Norplant was contraindicated for 65% of women, they asserted that since the 35% was the approved baseline, that another 30% rejection rate was acceptable!!!!

Not only that, but when women on welfare experienced rejection symptoms, doctors refused to remove the implants. (Even the ACLU objected to this practice.)

The interesting bit is that they didn’t deny anything this guy said or that he did indeed work for them in the position stated by Veritas

Bingo

The interesting thing to see will be if the guy gets protection if he nestles under Pfizers control regardless of if he is fired for appearance sake.
